Bournemouth MNers - Castlepoint is SHUT

Thought it might be handy to let people know!!!

They shut the car parks this morning due to all the problems with them, and have now announced that the whole shopping centre is shut until further notice due to health and safety!!!

Kinda screws anyone planning on Christmas shopping there for a bit....

omg - I'm glad I did mine in Southampton yesterday!

DelGirl · 01/12/2005 08:37

oh poo, wanted to go there this am. They've had so many problems haven't they. Kind of makes you wonder if the whole place is safe, even the shops . I sometimes feel nervous just walking in the downstairs car park.

FlameRobin · 01/12/2005 08:39

I was meant to be going this morning to get my meal top

Psychomum's husband did work building it, and he said from the beginning that there would be problems later on.

They are gonna lose soooo much money on Christmas trade, and mess up anyone planning on doing bits in the evening.

I don't wanna go to Bournemouth!

neither do I. Got to get something for an almost 3 year old. Last minute pressy, her mummy's coming round tonight. It's either toysrus or boscombe and I don't fancy either in this weather. May pop to tesco's instead, they have some ok stuff, don't they?

FlameRobin · 01/12/2005 08:45

Yup, Tesco have got lots... Oooh, actually Asda has got some really good offers at the moment - I know Asda is a bit of a nightmare sometimes, but it might be worth a trip to St Pauls?

just ordered a dora explorer doll/clothes from argos, so going to ringwood rd instead. hope she likes it

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 01/12/2005 08:59

thought getting to tesco with all the diverted traffic from cp and the roadworks would be hell

GoldFrankincenseandMerlin · 01/12/2005 09:15

Great minds think alike - was just going to post this! What a disaster - how are we going to manage without our Castlepoint daily fix?!!!!

DG - hope you get what you want elsewhere. Thanks for the email. Feeling loads better today, even took J to school this am. What day did you suggest to meet up?

BournemouthBaubleBabe · 01/12/2005 09:31

GFM, thought I hadn't seen you in the playground, hope you are OK now ... although I'm having a skivey day off today with the lurgy so I will be doing a good impersonation of Rudolph later on!

No prizes for guessing who I am!

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 01/12/2005 09:43

jodee?
Merlin, glad you're better . The only day I can't do next week I think is Wednesday. So any day but. Monday? Where can we go, hmm?

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 01/12/2005 09:45

got to go and brave the weather now. Don't really want to take dd out cos she's got a streamer. Made up for her rough night the other night, tho. She slept alot yesterday and about 14 hours last night and that's only because I woke her up. She'd probabably still be there. Loads to do today, got 5 friends over for dinner tonight.

BournemouthBaubleBabe · 01/12/2005 09:54

Yep, 'its me, DG! Ooh, your little one sounds a poorly bunny, hope she's better soon. Enjoy your dinner party tonight, sounds fun.

Kittypickle · 01/12/2005 09:58

I was supposed to be taking my Mum there this morning but luckily heard it on the radio, she was spitting feathers when I told her. Try Sainsbury's in Ferndown Delgirl, they've got ELC toys and the road should be pretty clear up from you I would have thought. Sorry to hear people have been ill and hope you're all feeling better soon.

GoldFrankincenseandMerlin · 01/12/2005 10:11

every time i go to cp, I bump into either Merlin or Delgirl - bloody shopaholics, the pair of them

BournemouthBaubleBabe · 01/12/2005 13:06

Hi Bun, I posted on one of the threads about not going - seeing David Gray on 8th at BIC so babysitting is a problem for 2 nights on the trot (and cash!).
Emailed you ....

Kittypickle · 01/12/2005 13:52

Merlin I posted up somewhere I think, I'm afraid I can't come. I'm having real trouble with my gallstone and can't eat out really at the moment, or drink for that matter either unfortunetly.

GoldFrankincenseandMerlin · 01/12/2005 13:58

Bunny - I have a confession ........... I went in Sainsbury's yesterday at CP, so probably jinxed the place

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 01/12/2005 14:15

lol Merlin . All these poorly people

Went to Winton in the end, I always forget about there and it's not far from me. Managed to get summet nice in woolies for my friends dd. Dinner is in the oven and dd is asleep. Table is set and i've tasted the wine . Just a sip. Still got lots to do tho so ta ra.

BournemouthBaubleBabe · 01/12/2005 14:35

Merlin, you have a lot to answer for, CP Management bloke on the radio just now said it could be shut for WEEKS!

Tesco will be rubbing their hands with glee, no doubt...
