motherinferior · 10/10/2003 14:38

Well, I'll confess that I am today dressed by ahem Tesco. Cherokee jeans £20 (actually rather nice, and short enough and hey, a size 10, pretty good as I had a baby 3 months ago), stretchy black viscose and lyra V-neck top £10, displaying what my pilates teacher kindly calls 'breastfeeding chest'. Black lacy nursing bra (£19?) from Emma-Jane, black pants from an M&S five-pack so about £3; most expensive things are sheepskin slippers which cost about £40, and should IMO be tax-deductible for anyone who works from home in house w/out carpets.

ghengis · 10/10/2003 15:37

Stripy long sleeve t shirt £10 (Tesco)
M&S Per Una jeans (size 14) £25
Navy high heeled mules £20 (Dublin)
Underwear (M&S and gossard) £25 approx.

WideWebWitch · 10/10/2003 16:17

Black M&S maternity bra: £20
Black Joseph top (2 years old): £30 odd?
Black maternity trousers on loan: free
Black long Wallis cardigan: £40
Black Carvela shoes: £30 (see a theme here?)
Black M&S knickers: £3?
Black socks: £2?
Silver watch: £775
Black DKNY bag: £60
So total with watch/bag: £960
Total without: £125
Watch is 4 years old though and bag is on its last legs.

Coddy, love the sack cloth and ashes--very good.
ButterflyMum- I can't believe the scoop on those chips--I would never buy anything Benetton after reading that! It is so scarey! Makes me want to learn how to sew!

marthamoo · 10/10/2003 16:26

Hee hee, so glad I saw this as today I am wearing my one and only Boden top (V-necked flowery thing in mocha - brown to you and me) ! It should have been £29 but it was free, 'cos I spent a ludicrous amount on kids' clothes.

Also Next olive green moleskin trousers (£34.99).

Bra and knicks M&S - about £17 ? (I thought only Jo Brand and The Queen had Rigby and Peller bras!)

Black socks, can't remember where from, not expensive.

Next watch, £20 in sale, white gold wedding ring and eternity ring, silver ring, and white gold slave bangle. About...£320..oooh.

So..£374ish. Wow.

And I absolutely wear knickers in bed - bit draughty otherwise

doormat · 10/10/2003 16:29

ruched combat pants £20
ruched glitter netted top £10
pocahontas boots £30
socks £1
bra £10
thong £2

www are you in goth mood today

sunchowder · 10/10/2003 16:33

Good one Doormat, WWW is so very Black today....

doormat · 10/10/2003 16:34

No I am in goth mode today as I am wearing all black, I like the marilyn manson look sometimes.

lou33 · 10/10/2003 16:38

Doormat I am slightly fearful that I may be turning into him. I have shoulder length dark hair, very pale skin , wear dark lipsticks , and usually dress in black. Can you help?

doormat · 10/10/2003 16:40

ROFL Lou
I think when you have the gold teeth and the fake eye contacts, then I would start to worry

lou33 · 10/10/2003 16:42

(Whispers) But I like the fake eye. What's happening to me?

doormat · 10/10/2003 16:45

Well you must be turning into him then Lou

The beautiful people, the beautiful people

lou33 · 10/10/2003 16:48

Well at least it's better than turning into Lesley Joseph I suppose. It could've gone either way. I quite like his music actually.

doormat · 10/10/2003 16:56

Totally agree Lou, anything is better than lesley joseph.
I like his music too

lou33 · 10/10/2003 17:15

Can I just add a teeny brag here? We have a cd of MM given to us by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails (dh was working with them). Mates apparently.

doormat · 10/10/2003 17:35

nice one lou, I think MM is a genuis, he seen a gap in the music market and went for it.

sunchowder · 10/10/2003 17:47

My DS (18) has a beautiful black and white poster of M&M giving the finger (I believe with both hands), it faces you as soon as you walk in the room. Was I supposed to ask him to take it down? Do you think this is the proper message to be giving my 13 and 9 year old?

doormat · 10/10/2003 18:52

sunchowder no it is not an appropriate message to give to a 13 and a 9 yo but these days the kids know more than us.

lou33 · 10/10/2003 19:22

I like Eminem's music but wouldn't have the poster up personally (unless it was inside my cupboard!).

sunchowder · 10/10/2003 21:51

It is so tough knowing what to do, I mean it is "his" room and all....I suffer so much with this as they go through all of their changes. He is always one to call and let us know where he, no problems yet with smoking or drugs, has had the same girl for 3 years now..I try to think that maybe allowing him to have the poster, never gave us a bit of trouble through high school. If he needs to "stretch" his reaching adulthood (18 for him means ADULT?) maybe it is allowable. My DH didn't say a word to him about it. That makes it even tougher...Somehow I was worried to let him know that I was a bit shocked, my nine year old came out of his room with her mouth covered saying Mummy, did you see that?
