Being a bit nosey,so how much was it that you're wearing right now.The other day I wore over 100 pounds worth of outfit and another day it was only 20 odd pounds due to my mum giving me a top.Today I shall be mostly wearing something worth 89 pounds,a fat face sweat, jeans and new shoes 29 pounds in the sale.

So is East like Monsoon but cheaper? Maybe East hasnt made it out of London yet

fisil · 09/10/2003 19:18

No, East is usually very expensive, skirts for £100 and the like. I'm a Monsoon girl, but always run out of the East shop embarassed cos I would never spend that much on clothes - but I happen to work next to the warehouse, and so we go along once a year when they have their warehouse sale. One year I got a suit, a dress and two silk shirts for £60! I think it is a London thing - or even a SW London thing, cos I'd never heard of it until we moved here.

PS dress is very plain - almost like a nurses dress, don't like the flowery stuff

lucy123 · 09/10/2003 19:22

This question always makes me feel proud.

Today I am wearing a grand total of 15 Euros (dress from sale in Dorothy Perkins. too warm for socks etc yet).

I love bargains and I am an avid re-cycler (eg. if a skirt is worn at the hem, I cut it down). I have complete outfits which cost less than £5!

scoobysnax · 09/10/2003 19:26

knee high boots £70
boden skirt £75
top free from a friend
M&S matching underwear £30
brown micro fishnets £4.50
boden cardigan £65
watch £20

All new, the result of a recent shopping spree...has made me feel much more confident - sad but true!

philippat · 09/10/2003 19:30

I love this insight into what everyone's wearing

Purple monsoon silky skirt, no doubt hugely overpriced - £40?
Purple boden tshirt, likewise way too expensive - £30?
Purple triumph bra - £25?
Purple La Redoute pants - £10 for 2?
Charnos opaque tights - £6 (I buy so many of these I know it off by heart)
Clarks shoes - £25?
Rimmel nail varnish on toenails
Boots in the nude lip gloss
2 hair clips from Boots
3 rings including eternity ring from tiffanys
watch bought in sweden

Got changed now to relax with a bottle of wine; start of my weekend as I don't work Fridays (or Mondays). So now in Next PJs and a lovely big cuddly hooded dressing gown. Still have same jewellery and my watch on though, soI can bump the amount up there still

I wish I could get stuff from Monsoon but I am way to short Did get 18mo DD a beautiful purple top, and a white cross over cardi in their sale recently.

fio2 · 09/10/2003 20:41

Wheres Cribbs?? I am in the midlands in between Birmingham and Stoke on Trent, dont want to give the exact location in case somebody knows me

philippat · 09/10/2003 21:34

fio2, you must live near me

There's an East at Leamington Spa, Solihull and Chester (I've spent too much in them all).

Great clothes though - I had a normal size 14 skirt and pair of trousers (which looked fine on me pre-pregnancy) that I was wearing right up to the last month of being pregnant. Much better buys than any of my actual maternity wear.

jammamia · 09/10/2003 21:53

There's a East in my town in deepest darkest rural Dorset, not one of my personal favourites, think it's because my mum likes it - guarenteed to put me off anything.

And I've actually had a rat in my toilet!! Just to make those of you with phobias sleep easy! It was one of the most wierd things that ever happened to me!

As for my cost right now... I'm in total relaxation mode and have large fleecy white dressing gown £55 The White Company and socks £2 M&S sale!

Bozza · 09/10/2003 21:57

Next wool poloneck £30 (I think but not sure because present from Mum)
Oasis jeans £20 (sale)
Next black socks £2
Next slippers £10
Asda knickers and bra set £8
TOTAL £70

Thats quite an expensive day from me. Pre-DS I used to spend quite a bit on clothes but I now go in for inverted snobbery of getting the best possible bargains. DH has joined in with his all time best being a suit from Mexx for £17.

fio2 · 09/10/2003 22:08

OOOOoooo I could get to any of those 3 phillipat

bobthebaby · 09/10/2003 22:10

Cargo Pants 10 pounds in Morgan Sale
Merino and Possum fur vest (its cold here ok) $35 NZ
Black cotton top $9NZ for KMart
Horrible but indestructible feeding bra $20NZ from factory shop
Meeting a friend later so avoiding VPL with a Gstring $5?

butterflymum · 09/10/2003 23:18

What.....no one posting in the all together????

butterflymum · 09/10/2003 23:28

Who are you?

"The way you choose to dress sends messages that tend to categorise you in very definitive ways. Look through the following list to see if you think you match any of the descriptions.

I'm creative.
I'm hip.
I'm sexy.
I'm a fashion victim.
I'm super trendy.
I'm very classic.
I'm sporty.
I'm young.
I'm trying to look young.
I'm dramatic.
I don't like my body.
I love, love, love my body.
I'm a mess and I don't care.
I'm confused.
I'm very neat and proper.
I'm interesting.
I'm eccentric.
I'm special.
I want your attention.

Now ask yourself if your wardrobe is projecting these same messages. Does your style match what you want to say about yourself? If not, then know that by reviewing your wardrobe and by taking a good look at your hairstyle, makeup and grooming habits, you can change the messages that you send through your image."

jmg · 09/10/2003 23:30

OOh definately 'I don't like my body'
