cassock - someone suggested it before - but cassocks come in all different colours, our choir ones are blue, you get red, purple and other hidieous colours too.

Although I guess clergy cassocks are always black.......

We had cassock janh, and it is the leading theory I think, but someone said they didnt have to be black (cassocks, I mean)

This is from Wikipedia. Apart from cardinals and bishops (leave aside monsignors!) yer cassock is black.

Cassock it is then........apparently choir cassocks are usually called Robes??? although I've never sung in a church choir that doesn't call them Cassocks LOL.
