ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 14:51

hahahaha!
I've yet to throw up but have come very close 4 times today!!! Bleurgh!

minipie · 08/07/2011 15:05

Afternoon all

Well I never did get to POAS this morning. AF arrived last night Sad

Really did think we'd got the timing right this month. Ah well. On the plus side I won't have to worry that I've poisoned a future baby with all the booze and banned foods I had last weekend

AC have enormous fun in Ibiza!

SPR hope your tummy and boobs calm down for the weekend.

Right, I'm off to try to calculate my next fertile time...

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 15:19

Oh, sorry to hear that minipie

minipie · 08/07/2011 17:11

Never mind SPR hopefully I'll come join you in Costa Rica next month!

ShaggingProducesResults · 08/07/2011 19:12

Definitely!!

Trying Sainsbury's non alcoholic wine this weekend....... So far I've had some rosé. it's............... interesting. Am hoping the red and white are a little less like sugary grape juice!!

AmandaCooper · 08/07/2011 20:57

Sorry to hear that Minipie. But glad I won't be alone on the next bus!

I've just left the office after a stressful day trying to pull everything together before I leave. We're off to the airport now! This time tomorrow I'll be drinking vodka and coke on the balcony! Grin

ShaggingProducesResults · 09/07/2011 07:16

Happy Holiday AC!!!!

minipie · 10/07/2011 20:42

SPR hmm yes need some interesting alternatives to booze. how about ginger beer? or Virgin Marys?

AC hope you're having fun in Ibiza and I'll see you on the April bus!

ShaggingProducesResults · 11/07/2011 12:44

Well the Sainsbury's booze free wine is officially rancid! Think I'll be oouring the rest fo it away and trying to find a more realistic option!!

Had a really nice weekend with DSis and the pupp (so cute!!) and it was relatively chilled out. We decided to go for a 16 mile bike ride last night though and I am wondering if that was a bit much as I woke up this morning feeling dreadful and so have taken the day off work.

I'm finding it sa bit frustrating that my body can't seem to keep up with my normal day to day life at the moment. Particularly as I wasn't expecting to be feeling so dreadful so soon!! I know that it's a good thing and that the end result will be so worth it but I was not prepared to feel this tired this fast!!

How were your weekends?

WYorksLass · 11/07/2011 15:15

SPR, try here www.alcoholfree.co.uk/ for your drinks.
I found it recommended elsewhere on mumsnet. DH and i went to the shop and had a tasting session but they do mail order too. I really enjoyed the selection of beer we had at our bbq this weekend. The wine is ok too, better than expected, it does make the heartburn worse though.

ShaggingProducesResults · 11/07/2011 16:26

tanks for the link WYorks. I'd had a look on there last week but decided to give the Sainsbury's stuff a go first as it's about half the price (that'll teach me to be cheap!!!)

DH is being pretty militant about even a sniff of booze in the first 12 weeks and so I think I'll have to get some better non alcoholic options in!!

squirrel007 · 11/07/2011 16:49

Hi all! Just sneaking on while DD is asleep and I am awake :) This week has been strange... the other night DH commented that he felt like he was waiting 'to get back to normal', and just beginning to realise that won't happen. We had a couple of tough nights when DD decided to cry all night and we were exhausted and clueless, but infant colic drops have really helped and she's calmed down since I started giving them to her. The lack of sleep isn't actually too bad, am waking every 3-4 hours to feed her but then can nap in the daytime. I've made it out once to the nearby shops, but DH goes back to work later this week so I'm going to try to start getting out and about a bit more! But, I have to say, that despite the sleep deprivation and lack of doing much, I am loving motherhood Grin

jbells I am in awe that you are managing with a baby and a toddler on your own, and now even more shocked at your ex for walking out Shock

spr I really liked bottlegreen cordials with sparkling water - they have a range of flavours. And I know exactly what you mean about feeling your body can't keep up! I spent most of the 1st trimester asleep, also surprised me that I felt so bad so early.

Amanda hope you have a great holiday!

Hi to everyone else, hope you're all well :)

Quodlibet · 11/07/2011 20:53

Squirrel, meant to say before, Charlotte is gorgeous! Glad to hear a report from the other side.

We had friends over yesterday with their 2 week old teeny little one, it made both me and DP go a bit misty-eyed...But the Gruffalo needs revving up again as we've just spent the evening cancelling compromising over our long-planned week away in August (only camping in Cornwall but still). DP can't afford the time off. HOWEVER, this evening's negotiations have ended in the decision that I will be as supportive as I can be during this crunch time for him until his 'delivery' deadline of 1 Sept, after which either things change bigtime and he really makes it up to me (big promises about this from his end) OR ELSE (shit/fan/toys/pram/hell/fury, etc). You have it in writing right here on this here internet ladies. RRRGGGGHHHHHAAAAGGH.

How romantic am I?

SPR sorry you're flaking all over the place. Well jel of AC in Ibiza.

jbells · 11/07/2011 21:01

oh wow squirral congrats i havnt bin on properly in a while due to lack of timeds is a very clingy baby. congratulations on your dd so pleased for u. when i get a spare half an hr tomoro i will have to catch up with the thread and everuthin ive missed...so glad to hear your doing well :-)

AmandaCooper · 13/07/2011 09:59

Hi guys! Sorry to hear you require the services of the Gruffalo, Quod, particularly as I have to say he is not terribly effective!

Just a quick hello from Ibiza. Not sure whether I am now on 12DPO or 14DPO but I do highly recommend sunbathing and general lounging about during the 2ww. Had no obsessing at all. Although I think the result (arrival of AF) is pretty inevitable so it might be that.

Squirrel glad you are enjoying motherhood. Never going back to normal oh boy what a thought!

AmandaCooper · 13/07/2011 10:04

Won't be doing any tests as not sufficiently motivated but here is my chart which I've got set to ovulation monitor setting, hence the OV line doesn't match temps. No PG symptoms whatsoever only AF symptoms.

Have a nice day all x

ShaggingProducesResults · 13/07/2011 10:11

Glad to hear that the sunbathing is distracting you from the 2ww obsessing! I had a nosey at your chart over the weekend and thought it looked promising but I guess that could be the heat and odd bottle glass of wine?!?!?

When are you expecting AF to arrive? hopefully not when you are away?

100years · 13/07/2011 11:00

Lovely pic Squirrel :) Glad you are loving it.

AC hope you are having a nice time and glad the sun is taking your mind off the 2WW

SPR how did your sis react when you told her the dream was true? Yep the tiredness is a killer, but it's not constant, it goes for a while (then hits you again in third tri - which I'm experiencing now!) I had a girl at work tell me the same thing, this was before I was telling people, when I told her I was she was Shock

minipie - Sorry about AF. :(

Quod, sorry about the cancelled holibob.

I'm as I put in my reply bit to SPR shattered at the moment! Soooo looking forward to finishing work and wishing I could finish earlier, only have 8 shifts to go though. Got 5 days off now, so a chance to relax. Off to see LO this afternoon, taking my mum with me so she can see her, as she will have never seen a scan before, and I'm expecting her to be all blubbery! LOL

Had a nice weekend away, saw a load of friends, but the travelling made me more tired and I ended up having 2 naps on Saturday! LOL, One in the morning and one in the late afternoon. :)

Got most of our stuff now, :) And have LOADS of clothes as we have been given hand me downs from a few people, so things like sleepsuits, body suits, and some outfits, prob won't need to buy anything for months - except I'm shopping on Saturday and going to buy an outfit then :) Got the nappies too, they are all soft and cuddly, need to wash them though a few times before use.

Having mad moments of hoping everything is OK in there, even though I know she is wriggling away and all squirmy and lovely, it's still a 'just stay safe in there a few weeks longer' feeling.

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 13/07/2011 13:38

SPR going on average it should have been yesterday. But I'm not hopeful. It's been as late as 13dpo before.

AmandaCooper · 13/07/2011 13:51

100years hope you and your mum enjoy the scan. Hope she keeps still for you!

AmandaCooper · 13/07/2011 13:53

DD I mean, not your mum!

strawberrypie · 13/07/2011 14:38

Hi everyone,

Squirrel- Wow how beautiful is Charlotte? What a great picture! Hope you are doing ok, it sounds like you are coping really well x

Quod, I'm glad you have sorted out a timescale with OH so at least he knows that this cannot go on for ever. It sounds like things might be looking up re holidays and TTC after the deadline thingy is out of the way FX.

AC so jealous of your Hols! Glad you are not obsessing too much...save it until next month when you are trying for real then try to stop yourself! Wink The acronyms will be coming thick and fast from us lot then!

Sorry you are feeling tired 100years. 8 shifts to go sounds good though! You are so organised. We are in the midst of redecorating 4 rooms in the house and have not started the nursery yet....plenty of time left though

Going to a meeting at the hospital tonight to discuss our planned homebirth and talk to other couples who have birthed at home. it sould be interesting.

Hope everyone else is well, especially you Jbells, like Squirrel said you are a superwoman x

PS When are you going to tell people about the PG SPR? Exiting stuff :)

WYorksLass · 13/07/2011 16:21

100, i empathise with the tiredness. Goodness knows how i'd cope of i wasn't at home. I'm not getting up until 10 most days and still fall asleep for an hour after lunch! Thankfully baby stuf is mostly sorted so i an relax a bit. Just managed 30 lengths of the swimming pool so feeling good. can't wait to get back to some serious exercise!
