Now Minipie we all know that the beauty of early testing with cheapies is that if it's a BFN we can say "damn useless cheapies" and if it's a BFP we can rush to mothercare!

Yes Ibiza is going to be just the tonic. Bought a new bikini today!

MrsSatsuma · 05/07/2011 22:21

Hooray, I have company! Thanks minipie. Come sit in the TTC carriage with me. The Gruffalo is pacing outside just in case but there is cake and a comfy sofa :-) which is a good thing as I may be here a while. I am now flitting between TTC and the waiting to TTC carriage (which I hadn't actually visited since joining this thread) because a very important work project has come up that will happen next summer... Because I'm a teacher it makes quite a big financial difference what time of year I get pg - although if it doesn't happen in ideal time frame (which it didn't this year) we will just keep trying next time anyway! Have got over my wobbles about it (I think). Feel a bit bad... will the Gruffalo be after me next for changing my mind back and forth??

Grin at AC's cheapy test analysis. Have a fab holiday!! We are currently booking ours which I am very excited about.... although my obsession with getting the lowest price has meant we are now phoning tomorrow instead of booking online. Hope I won't regret it.

AmandaCooper · 06/07/2011 08:37

MrsS the rule is we can change our minds as much as we want, he has to fit in with us. The Gruffalo is trained to uphold this double standard, so no need to fear! If you're not pg, have another cocktail!

Where are you off to on your holiday? Hope you get a good price, it's a bind to be tied to school holidays. Teachers should get a travel subsidy.

100years · 06/07/2011 09:29

Hello Ladies.

I'm sorry I'm only catching up with posts since I posted last. We're really moving fast in here, which is great, but I've been working and am slightly shattered.

Squirrel :) I know I said congrats before, but glad all is OK and can't wait to see a pic. Enjoy getting settled as a family.

SWI or should I say SPR :) Really pleased for you. My boobs were one of the first things to happen, that and some nausea, but my boobs grew and it was like pins were stuck in them, hence me testing early. Yeah, I remember being really tired early on. But I had all the symptoms before I was 4 weeks! And I don't blame you for waiting to tell your DH. Yay for a summer off work next year :)

Mrs S, don't worry about the gruffalo, he's only out to get the men things with FOF and from saying stupid things, women are safe. Hope you work out which carriage to sit in.

AC, no I think it was nanny who was geocaching. Have just seen something on the news about it, after a bomb scare from someone seeing a package being put back indoor a plant pot! I think it would be cool though. Enjoy your holibobs.

minipie, I did my test on CD26, baring in ming I used to have cycles of 30+ days, I got a BFP on CD26, but I knew I was pregnant and thought if I waited a few days to test I would have wondered if I would have been able to find out on that day - that day being xmas day, so was kind of early because of it being xmas. So test away on Saturday. I used a First response test.

I'm 2nd on the list!!!! Shock

Well we've finally ordered most of the baby things we need! Only 8wks and 1 day to go. We've been given a load of clothes, some re-useable nappies a cot (waiting for the bolts that hold it together) and some other stuff :) And have ordered the buggy, carry cot, moses basket, more nappies, oh I've lost count of things! I'm picking up the car seat this afternoon and the moses basket :) so I get to be all ooh I'm having a baby.

Midwife appointment before the picking up of stuff :) So get to hear LOs heart beat again, not that I need to hear it to know it's OK, as it's squirming and kicking like buggery in me! But it's so nice to hear.

Thanks for the comments on the pic, I love the bump, it's great, and so far is doing all it should be doing. :) And appears to be the only part of me growing at the moment! LOL rest of pregnant ladies look away but out of the 2 stone I lost with my MS I have only put on 6 lbs! Not bad for 32 weeks(tomorrow) :)

Hips/pelvis have been up and down, had a few better days, had a few crappy days, but I'm dealing with it better. Feeling quite tired now and wondering how I'm going to manage to work for another 3 weeks, thankfully though it's only 10 more shifts, and I'm hoping I might be able to blag a few off on leave as I still have some left.

Hope everyone else is OK. :)

Afternoon ladies

Well I had typed out quite a long post but then my boss walked in and I had to shut down MN!

Did a pg test this morning - BFN obviously, I am only on 11 DPO and it was only an internet cheapy - shouldn't have been so daft. Am going to ignore it and keep hoping.

100years you sound very sorted! 8 weeks to go, gosh that really isn't very long - will be over before you know it except for the last couple of weeks which I hear last about a million years Smile

MrsS I totally understand about changing your mind back and forth - I was on the "Ditherers" thread for quite a while before the "Waiters" thread! Still have moments when I think TTCing is barmy... I will shield you from the Gruffalo should he get the wrong idea!

In any case I would guess the Gruffalo has his hands (claws?) full with bebe's DH ...

bebejones · 06/07/2011 15:19

Minipie - do not give up hope! I never got sore boobs until I actually had DD!!

MrsS - Gruffalos only like to eat men. Wink

100 - Eeeek all getting a bit real then?! :o

AC - Envy of your holiday, so need a break. Going to my mums for a long weekend (school reunion on Sat) but it's not really a holiday! :(

100years · 06/07/2011 16:42

minipie, my OH is a spreadsheet master and we have a spreadsheet of stuff we need to buy, stuff we would like, stuff that can wait etc etc, so it's all properly organised! But it feels like we've waited ages before doing it. Yes I hear it takes forever at the end - started off with a long drag wait because I was ick sick and ended with a long wait for bubs to come. Don't worry about lack of or loads of symptoms, everyone is different.

bebe, it's all good, it's great :) Real, nah not yet, but when I've got LO in my arms I'll probably go, WTF!!!

Just been to MW, Still head down, lying on left instead of right, but bum at the top so not lying tranverse or anything silly :) Slight protein in urine, but BP is fine and no headaches or any other things, so no reason to worry. But I will keep an eye if I get headaches more or something now!

OP posts:
minipie · 06/07/2011 17:20

thank you bebe that helps! Smile

100 glad to hear you've passed your pg MOT!

100years · 06/07/2011 17:51

Ooh I like that. Pregnancy MOT. Cool Grin

Just set up Moses basket, aaah all cute and watnot

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 06/07/2011 20:40

Why, what is the significance of lying on left instead of right? [clueless]

Minipie those damn cheapies are next to useless always giving the wrong result. Do another one in the morning! Grin

No news here. If miracle baby has been conceived it is keeping very quiet about it. Here's my chart if anyone is interested. Bear in mind that if I OVd CD19 as suggested I can't be pg.

100years · 06/07/2011 21:48

No significance. Just where the back is. Last time her back was on my right. Today on my left. Nothing significant at all Smile so long as she stays head down Grin

OP posts:
AmandaCooper · 06/07/2011 22:20

Phew! I was worried there for a minute!

ShaggingProducesResults · 07/07/2011 10:01

100 I can?t believe you?ve got less than 8 weeks to go now!! Fingersw crossed that you aren;t in too much pain with your hips/pelvis in the last few weeks.
you and DH are very organised aren?t you?!?!? Am impressed with the spreadsheet. I think my approach will be a bit more haphazard! When do you start buying stuff? Is it advisable to wait until after the 20 week scan?

minipie sorry to hear that you got a BFN with the internet cheapie but as AC said, they are crap! When is the next test date?

Mrs Satsuma It must be really tough trying to time inm your TTC with school holidays. My teacher friend got updiffed by accident but it all worked out perfectly as her start of maternity leave co-incided with the start of the Autumn term so she finished work in July and gave birth in December!

bebe saw your cupcake question on FB but couldn?t leave a comment for some reason. Chocolate on chocolate is my vote ? yummy!!!

AC Chart looks a bit confusing but at least the temps are staying up post OV! :)

I?m bloody exhausted today and my boobs hurt sooo much!! I had to wear my yoga bra to bed last night and this morning they are super painful even though they are very well supported! It?s driving me mad!

minipie · 07/07/2011 10:15

Next test date is Saturday I think SPR.

Actually I do have more symptoms to report this morning - I feel really properly nauseous today and I also have pinkish discharge - which I am trying to convince myself is implantation bleeding.

Oh yes and I'm also knackered. However, it could all just be a sign of too much work or that AF is on the way, so trying not to get my hopes up...

SPR I am torn between sympathy about your boobs and exhaustion, and envy! Who'd have thought I would want sore boobs eh Confused.

MrsS what timing is ideal for teachers then - would you want to give birth in September?

bebe what's the cupcake question? Best cupcake combination I remember trying was banana cake with chocolate icing... mmm. Peanut butter and chocolate also works really well!

minipie · 07/07/2011 10:16

oh and AC thanks for your encouragement Grin! I did manage to resist another cheapy this morning, trying to hold out till Saturday.

bebejones · 07/07/2011 10:45

Cupcake question:

I'm making some of these again for a playgroup fundraiser. Was contemplating doing vanilla icing instead of chocolate this time as they will also have a decorative drizzle of chocolate on top.

Back later...still have 24 cupcakes to make!

ShaggingProducesResults · 07/07/2011 10:55

I am going to be glued to this on Saturday morning!! Do you think you could POAS before 10am as I have yoga class for 90 mins!!!?!?!?

All the symptoms are sounding positive..... :)

100years · 07/07/2011 11:24

SPR, I know, time goes quickly, soon to move VERY slowly. Tis actually 8 weeks today! Thanks, I'm hoping being able to be at home and do as little or as much as I can will help. I like the fact we have been organised. Re buying stuff, we always said we would wait till the third trimester before getting stuff, much as I was tempted to buy an outfit before that I didn't. We did have a couple of books given to us when I was about 24 weeks, but they had a special meaning, so was fine with that. But we've only in the past week started ordering stuff. Loads of people have said how much stuff they have already bought, it's what suits you :) Sorry you are knackered, and sore boobs, I had to wear a bra in bed for a while because it hurt when I stood from bed to go to the loo. It did ease off, but I can't remember when, it's due to start again for me soon!

minipie, fingers are crossed for you.

Just had the nappies delivered, have put a teddy in the nappy - so cute! Moses basket is up and cool, got the bassinet for the buggy, few other things :) It's all looking babified here now :)

marking my place i lost the thread for a while so a lot to cqtch up on

minipie · 07/07/2011 11:48

oooh bebe they look amazing. I'd vote choc on choc I think, but vanilla would be lovely too and would make the choc decorations stand out more.

SPR I will do my best! but i'm a fan of my lie ins on Saturdays (one of the downsides of being pg would be waiving goodbye to those!)

minipie · 07/07/2011 11:48

waving not waiving obv.

ShaggingProducesResults · 07/07/2011 12:45

True!!

Having a very amusing lunch today. lunch is a pain at the best of times because I can't have sandwiches (Gluten Free) but now that the salad bar is off limits I have to be a bit creative. Today it's tomatoes, cheese and peanut butter.........getting some rather odd looks but as my colleague is eating cheese and mackrel pate I don't think I stand out too much!!!

AmandaCooper · 07/07/2011 14:32

Minipie I think you meant to say "Friday" damn predictive text eh?

minipie · 07/07/2011 14:57

Grin AC

Actually I think Sunday is a more likely typo for Saturday than Friday, isn't it ... !

Seriously though I am determined to wait until Saturday. I'd rather keep hopeful for a bit longer

minipie · 07/07/2011 14:58

What's wrong with the salad bar SPR Confused
