Gift for Amanda1

A few people have requested that they would like to get Amanda a little something as a way of showing we are thinking of her whilst she is going through this particularly hard time. I was thinking of buying a little something, maybe other than flowers as a little keep sake. How about a small picture frame or a little handcrafted decorative box for storing anything that is in assosciation with the baby she has just lost? I am at a similar stage of a pregnancy Amanda was and I couldn't even begin to imagine how she must be feeling, particularly with no 'official' document of her little girl ever to be drawn up.

Like I say, anybody wishing to contribute is more than welcome or please let me know if you wish to say something in her card.

Well what I will do is give everyone a chance to see this thread and work out what to buy, I will probably get it in my lunch hour tomorrow - any ideas for a pressie will be much appreciated and we can go with the majority.

I have a Paypal account but to be honest I have only ever used it for Ebay so not entirely sure how it works - I'm sure someone can enlighten me though .

If you make a note of what message you would like I will will write them all in.

Like the box idea chloe, re the paypal account, if you give us your email address, we can just go into paypal and click on send money and send you money!

Ah that sounds easy enough, I'll have a look up town tomorrow and see what I can find, I can take a piccie of what I buy on my phone and send a picture to people's mobiles if they want coz I don't have a digital camera so don't think I will be able to post a picci on Mumsnet.

Is there a free email I can set up on the internet that my work won't be able to find out about? I only have access to the internet at work and the only email address I have is a work's one and I don't want to broadcast it on here.

Obviously I'm in. Also like the box idea, or wondered if there was a nice salon up there that would sell a voucher for a massage or some reflexology to try and help her to chill out and relax for a little while.

There is a site here that has a lot of nice ideas and some of the money goes to SANDS. Also the SANDS website does cards.

when one of our antenatal group lost her little boy we sent her some flowers and paid to have a midwife trained in her sons memory. hope this is helpful

I have found a little music box containing 3 glass angels and a little verse on this website:

I thought it was quite sweet. I am going to buy a card and add the following poem, found on the website Rhubarb has linked for us:
