Who's joining me for the big clean thread???

After a quick discussion last night, we thought it would be an idea for all those who desperately need to get some housework done, to have a thread for it.

The plan is to do housework for 1/2 hr, then come back on, say what you've got done, have a quick mn break, and then head back for another 1/2 hour.

I'm going swimming with DD, and then coming back to get started.

I actually wish I could join you. I have friends coming round tonight and I won't get home from work until 5.30! Then I have to start on the tip that my house has become and then start painting - too much to do arrrggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

flamebat · 14/10/2005 09:26

Yup - tis meant to be going all day as a couple who were discussing it last night could only start after work - will bump it for you at 5.30

i'll join you if that's ok. i have to get myself and DD showered and then i'll start!

macwoozy · 14/10/2005 09:29

I'm up for that, I need some sort of incentive to get this house tidy.

Lonelymum · 14/10/2005 09:30

Ooh I'll give it a go. I have 2 bathrooms to do today (my least favourite housework) and I noticed the fridge is realy dirty too. If I can get that done today, I will feel I have achieved something.

ScummyMummy · 14/10/2005 09:30

Sounds good... But I do quite fancy wasting lots of time on mumsnet as well. Decisions decisions.

flamebat · 14/10/2005 09:35

Right - can't swim til 11.30, so will go and get started now

Huh. I wish, but I have to go to the zoo.

Chloe55 · 14/10/2005 09:51

I wish I had to go to the zoo - booooooooooo to work!!!!

weesaidie · 14/10/2005 10:04

I tell you aaaaaall about it , going to see what I believe are the only Koalas in Britain...

JonesTheScream · 14/10/2005 10:07

Ooh - can I join please - my house looks like several bombs have hit it!!!!!!!!

flamebat · 14/10/2005 10:20

I wanna go to the zoo!!!

In the last half hour, I have got dressed, changed a bum, washed one lot of dishes, and put the next load in the bowl (tend to leave them in very hot water until the water is cool enough to stick my hands in, and by that time the ones draining have dried ), and I've started tackling the bookshelf in my diningroom... otherwise known as ye shelf of cr*p.

Now sitting here and having something to eat... lost my breakfast due to pregnancy milk allergy setting off morning sickness

Chloe55 · 14/10/2005 10:23

If it counts I put a load of washing on before I left for work this morning and put the previous washing from the machine into the tumble dryer, I will be doing a similar process when I get home.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 10:24

ive sat here for the last 2 hours..... i should get up and get me and Jess dressed at least but have NO motivation!

weesaidie · 14/10/2005 10:26

Well I am up and dressed at least , have done a few dishes and am going to put the washing machine on before I leave. Phew! It's a hard knocks life, eh?

flamebat · 14/10/2005 10:29

You have a HUGE excuse J&BM (do you have a new thread yet?)

OP posts:
JonesTheScream · 14/10/2005 10:29

Went to Asda's after taking DD to school and now have finished cup of tea and am off to do something constructive - see you all later!!!!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 10:30

flame - i have no idea.... im refusing to comment on the last thread because it will chuck it into active convos again!

Jess is wrecking the place and i really dont care - am i a bad mummy?!

flamebat · 14/10/2005 10:32

Nope, not a bad mummy, just a very very pregnant one.

I'm thinking about paying a cleaner for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy - I'll need the place straight for a homebirth, but can't see me doing it!!!!

I've been good and not bumped up the old thread - didn't want to rile hormone lady's wrath

OP posts:
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 10:35

lol.... ahhh dont worry. its just if i see it, ill post and then piss loads of people off again!

JanH · 14/10/2005 10:36

We had visitors last weekend and I noticed after they'd gone that there is dust on some shelves which is visible across the room

It is still there of course! I'll 'ave a go.

flamebat · 14/10/2005 10:39

I think dust gives a nice olde worlde feel to the house

I don't think the thread was annoying anyone but you though - we're all just wanting to know how you're doing. Being frustrated and pregnant with people to chat to has gotta be better than frustrated, pregnant and lonely.

Gonna start one for you with no mention of labour

OP posts:
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 14/10/2005 10:40

you are spot on flame - no one to talk to in RL so i come here to moan! theres only so much a 14 month old can be expected to hear!

flamebat · 14/10/2005 10:42

I spent most of yesterday in hormonal hysteria, with DD handing me babywipes to wipe my face, saying "Mummy cwy"

I felt much better after having an unload on here!!! New thread started for you

I'm off for another 30 mins tidy

xxx
