some interior designer said that everyone should live with white walls for at least 2 years before attempting colour. I agree that it could be v refreshing!

moondog · 25/09/2005 14:13

What's army accommodation like japm?
Is it the same world over?
Are you entitled to go wherever dh goes?
Does this only apply if you're married?

I've always wanted to know about the secret inner world of army wives.

Magnolia! With couch covered in navy blue LaRedoute cover and chair covered in taupe LaRedoute cover.

paolosgirl · 25/09/2005 14:16

It's a heritage colour - can't remember the name, but it's a kind of taupe. I've got cream sofas and dark wood furniture.

LIZS · 25/09/2005 14:18

Didn't know la Redoute did covers , are they any good ? We need to recover our tired looking M and S sofas (10 years old), so looking at the options, and have just got magnolia walls/cream curtains in lounge now.

LaRedoute covers ROCK! They were fairly inexpensive and very washable. The furniture is from charity shops, but w/the covers, they look fab. I highly recommend 'em.

biglips · 25/09/2005 14:27

chocolate colour on both walls next to the chimney breast and the rest is ceram, indian red wooden furniture, also with natural slates and indian metal bronze sheet in between the slates (all in columns) underneath the mantelpiece surrounding (where the fire is supposed to be) and lighting is dull silver (plus settee is black and carpet is dark green and curtains is autumn orange)

jackquline · 25/09/2005 14:38

we have cream leather sofa's and are redecorting / carpeting or wooden flooring the whole room so the more idea's the better.

Should i go dark with sofa being light
or stay light and natural?
