Should I wash my kitchen floor????

OK - yes I'll admit it - I still haven't washed it - and it must be at least a week since I last posted saying it needed doing badly.

DH will probably be home in 40 minutes (give or take a bit), I've already sorted the dishes out, loaded the dishwasher, put some clothes away etc etc.

I also need to do my shopping at Tesco.com for delivery tomorrow. Which I could do after DH gets home.........

Shall I wash it tonight - or shall I be a really dirty bugger and leave it another day

starlover · 08/09/2005 20:25

leave it!

WideWebWitch · 08/09/2005 20:25

Iwouldn't, it'll only get dirty again, waste of time imho

WigWamBam · 08/09/2005 20:26

Listen, after this long another day isn't going to make all that much difference, is it!

QueenOfQuotes · 08/09/2005 20:26

Thanks girls - shall leave it another day (it's been like that so long I don't suppose one more day will make much difference - and I do sweep it regularly so it's not like those ones you see in "How clean is your house".

MT - I think it must be about 4 weeks since I last did mine too

WWW - I wish it was that simple - I have to keep it "relatively" clean as you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom

Hooray!!!!!! I'm not the only filthy sl*t round here

My kitchen floor hasn't been done since I got back from holiday 4 weeks ago...and it does need doing badly. Especially since the kids were painting the other day. Does get brushed/hoovered everyday, as the dog is moulting

WideWebWitch · 08/09/2005 20:59

Well, I can beat all you sluts into a cocked hat I think our kitchen floor's been washed about twice since we've been in the house. Which is 2 years. Oops.

QueenOfQuotes · 08/09/2005 21:00

Almost every job in the house is done on a reasonably regular basis (although upstairs doesn't get hoovered that often because it's a b*gger dragging the hoover upstairs LOL.

But I HATE washing my kitchen floor - not sure why in reality only takes me about 15 minutes, that's from start to finish, moving all the 'stuff' out (bin, pushchair, laundry baskets in the utility bit, vegetable rack etc etc), sweeping it and washing it LOL.

get one of those slimey-wipe things that go on the end of a broom handle and whiz it around instead of bucket and mopping next time.

Not tonight though. Have a glass of wine instead.

magnolia1 · 08/09/2005 21:22

You STILL haven't done the floor

Has your dh got socks this time???

magnolia1 · 08/09/2005 21:34

I see your strategy now Home cooking to take his eyes off what you haven't done

Amai · 08/09/2005 21:34

Yes every morning get down on your hands and knees and just do it with a cloth and some bubbly hot water.

Amai · 08/09/2005 21:35

Angeliz · 08/09/2005 21:35

Amai, surely tha's only when you want to give birth though!?

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/09/2005 21:36

im a wipe on the end of a brush type girl.... or should i say dh is a wipe on the end of a brush type guy!

SherlockLGJ · 08/09/2005 21:37

Stop posting and wash the floor you slattern

Carla · 08/09/2005 21:40

How dirty? That's the crux of the matter. Could you hoover it and make it look better? Or does it look like a pack of hounds have run over it?

Litmus test for me: if dds run into the kitchen in their new white socks, and the soles come out brown, then it's time to do it.

Mind you ... that happens on our carpet now ...

QueenOfQuotes · 08/09/2005 21:44

I'm lucky you see - I've got quarry stone tiles in my kitchen - which are a red/brown colour - so they disguise a lot of the muck.

And all my children's socks are dark

(and yes the home cooking - plus chicken with rice and veg - does wonders to take his eyes off what I haven't done LOL).

motherpeculiar · 08/09/2005 21:53

aha - had been wondering what to get on our kitchen floor to disguise the filth. Red-brown quarry tiles it is then!
