Oooh..and just remembered..
when I first met dp his mum pulled out a video of him at 6 years old wearing a snazzy aztec print waistcoat and bow tie, singing a nursery rhyme in french on tv...heeeeelarious!
can't wait to show it to our tot when he is old enough to find it amusing...

spidermama · 25/08/2005 20:38

Oh Yeah! Once I was on the local news when Muhamad Ali visited Brixton and I got to hug him That was very cool.

ghost · 25/08/2005 20:40

Was on a gameshow in htv west region called press your luck - got shouted at during rehearsals for not being overboard enough and lost all my money in the last minute of the show. I just about the win the big prize .......£250 seemed like a lot of money then - still is now but you know what I mean

ghost · 25/08/2005 20:41

wheresmyfroggy · 25/08/2005 20:54

I was on telly when i worked for a company that produced an animated version of wind in the willows, they did a making of documentary and i was in it

dinny · 25/08/2005 20:55

yes, making a drunken arse of self on Later With Jools. More than once, sadly.

serah · 25/08/2005 21:10

I was on a tv show for SKY in 1989 at a custom car show. I was on the "outtakes" bit sprinting out of the way of a custom truck with flames belching from its pipes clutching a boom in my sweaty mitts

Never a good look.

wheresmyfroggy · 25/08/2005 21:11

Oooh the dangers of a boom operator

expatinscotland · 25/08/2005 21:15

Thankfully not.

Anteater · 25/08/2005 21:15

Rode in a few televised races MANY years ago..
Our next door neighbour reads the local news every day.. our youngest often talks to him when hes on!

gingerbear · 25/08/2005 21:18

Once - on local news getting my haircut when Prince Charles was visiting across the road!

I had paintings shown on Blue Peter and Vision On.

bubblerock · 25/08/2005 21:20

Yes it was very embarrassing and I did it for the money! Let Central News film me having hair extensions in 1996 after my hair was f*ed up by a hairdresser a week before my wedding. Had to put up with Ken Goodwin (total pratt) for the whole bloody day & they wanted to film my wedding to give the story a happy ending - I said no!! I have no desire to be on TV ever again!

tiredemma · 25/08/2005 21:25

yes, twice.

first time singing "its xmas every day" outside bbc pebble mill with noddy holder from slade ( not just me, my whole class). I love repulsive with a ginger perm.

second, as a huge new kids on the block fan, i played truant from school to stand outside the hyatt hotel in birmingham, screaming manically everytime they left the hotel. One day central news were there filming the hysteria, i pushed my way to the front of the queue to declare my undying love for jordan Knight, not realising that my dad would see it on the news, and me supposed to be at school.
I returned home to smack around the head.

tiredemma · 25/08/2005 21:26

i look repulsive that should read. not love repulsive.

Twice in about a fortnight!

First running the great north run
Second time in the audience of Ant & Decs saturday night take-away

hester · 25/08/2005 21:55

Lots of times - on news programmes, documentaries and the much-missed Kilroy... purely in a professional capacity, talking about various controversial issues (abortion, gay rights, virgin births ). I was younger and thinner then; wouldn't fancy it now...

SleepySuzy · 25/08/2005 21:57

Cheggers plays pop? There's a blast

WideWebWitch · 25/08/2005 22:11

I was on a book programme years ago talking about a book I loved and why.

lemonice · 25/08/2005 22:20

i had an embarrassing wrong and coky letter to junior poitns of view saying there was no such thing as a white horse (white horses in the sixties) and a whole laod of people put me in my place the following week

Fairport Convention audience in the sand dunes at Southport

Helen Reddy concert when they phoned school the same day to sen peopkle to be int the audience

Davina Mc Call Street Date or whatever it was called maneged to appera in all the street shots unintentionally, one trying not to to buy/participate in something

Bargain Hunt bought two items at auction by chance and have never come across the programme

QueenEagle · 25/08/2005 22:26

I was the lead on the "Kilroy" show a few years ago, oh the shame

hester · 27/08/2005 10:59
