I'm outta here for a week or so, all of this

"well if you don't like it don't read it"

and the attitude of "well if you're not with us your against us" are P*ssing me off.

The issue has been gone over and over again, with the same points being brought up over and over again. Those of us that say "Fine lets just leave it and move on" are being shot down in flames like we don't give a sh*t and quite frankly it's pathetic.

What else can we say except if you don't like a topic, don't read the threads? If you don't like make-up then you don't click on the Style threads; it's no different.

Hardly worth flouncing for, imo

SoupDragon · 25/08/2005 11:20

Oh FFS can't you give it a rest?

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 11:20

Well plenty are!!!

CountessDracula · 25/08/2005 11:20

So why bring it up again?
yawn

JoolsToo · 25/08/2005 11:20

soft centre anyone?

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 11:20

I assume all here are on the side of get a life give it a rest!!!

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 11:21

can we let off steam here without getting told our view is crap!

littlemissbossy · 25/08/2005 11:21

I've given up reading them too ... it's not that I don't care either but you only have to watch the news every day to see the real issues in the world

oliveoil · 25/08/2005 11:22

Is something going on? Gosh I miss everything.

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 11:23

er

you seem to assume we've all being glued to mumsnet for the last few days.

I havent and quite frankly its irritating hearing people telling you to be quiet and let things drop - just because YOU are bored with it.

You sound like you could do with a break actually - but don't blame us if you come back wanting to know whats beeng going on and we all tell you to be quiet!

littlemissbossy · 25/08/2005 11:23

No OO it's the same old thing from yesterday

aloha · 25/08/2005 11:24

But it's not really your job to tell other people what they can and can't discuss, is it? It's not hurting you and it's not about you. I don't read Big Brother threads, or pregnancy threads. Some people want to discuss this issue - why shouldn't they just because you don't want to talk about it. Mystifying.

compo · 25/08/2005 11:25

littlemissbossy - some people on this site feel very passionately about how babies are fed so to say they should get over it because 'you only have to watch the news every day to see the real issues in the world' is really patronising imo

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 11:25

well this is a thread for those who have had enough so everyone else now leave..thank you!!!
{said in a smiling non offensive manner}

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 11:26

no!

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 11:26

I thought it wasnt about how we feed our babies..anyway end of.... on here!!!

caligula · 25/08/2005 11:26

I'll stay if I want. (Also said in nice, non-threatening manner)

snafu · 25/08/2005 11:27

Yes, it is such a non-issue, isn't it, LMB?

[rolls eyes]

caligula · 25/08/2005 11:27

Lol villagewoman!

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 11:27

well if you wish to be cocky and confrontational we will not talk to you

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 11:27

big whup

WigWamBam · 25/08/2005 11:27

You're moaning about not being able to say what you think ... so why aren't we allowed to say what we think on a subject that matters to us? Yes, there are other things going on in the world; the fact that we are interested in this doesn't stop us being interested in other things as well. We can think about more than one subject at a time!

Roobie · 25/08/2005 11:28

What I'll never understand is why people feel the need to dictate the tone of a discussion forum...after an entreaty of "fine lets just leave it and move on" do they really expect everyone to post "oh all right then I'll say no more on the subject"?

Flossam · 25/08/2005 11:28

QoQ, I feel you have been mocking the others for saying they are leaving. Now you're starting a thread saying you're doing something similar!

Blu · 25/08/2005 11:28

At least half of each thread discussing the law, advertising etc is taken up by people who don't want to discuss it, telling everyone else that they shouldn't discuss it.
And starting as many new threads about how they are fed up with what other people are discussing!
