the table will be booked under the name of Mrs Custardo.

its a test you see. many fail this test and use their own name. only hardened nutters insist on using a daft one

excellent!!!!!!!!!!!

wilbur · 24/08/2005 10:19

Only just seen this - can I come too? Hope I'm not too late. Happy to phone restaurant and pay in advance, too, v good idea.

anorak · 24/08/2005 12:52

It's going to have to be a f**king enormous table!

Kaz33 · 24/08/2005 13:00

I have been to the restaurant and used to live near it, but don't anymore having left London.

Would come but the thought of all those people coming who I don't know brings me out in the shakes. Have fun.

Ameriscot2005 · 24/08/2005 13:05

Add me to the list

Kayleigh · 24/08/2005 13:20

anorak, it's going to have to be a f**king enormous restaurant!

MrsGordonRamsay · 24/08/2005 13:26

Kayleigh, why aren't you on the list? Can't you make it?

Kayleigh · 24/08/2005 14:43

not sure yet anorak - it's the weekend my best friend and i go out for our birthdays every year which is why I didn't come last year.
And to be honest a meet-=up of this size scares me to bits

Will let you know !

Tortington · 24/08/2005 17:19

i am going to ask the restaurant to take your payments for the set meal before the day either via credit card or cheque. i am phoninh them mid week next week and will let you know

i will then start another list with who is really coming ie. those who have paid.

Beyond the very sensible suggestion of one white/red and water on the table, and in with the overall cost, arrange for further orders to be paid for on the spot, iyswim. That's my advice. So one person doesn't end up being the harrassed accountant, taking contributions from people leaving early tc etc...

And Custy, could I have skinny soya in my after-dinner coffee? And deduct the price of the bread roll from my meal as I don't eat wheat? oh and deduct the cost of the butter to go with the roll, too....

Twiglett · 24/08/2005 17:34

agree with Blu .. add a couple of bottles of wine in with meal then if people want more they pay there and then .. in rounds

noddyholder · 24/08/2005 18:21

Mabs i may book a hotel any excuse to stay out longer!I will have a look on sites and let you know Does anyone else want to stay over i might be able to negotiaite a deal if there are a few of us let me know

monkeytrousers · 24/08/2005 19:09

Noddy, I', staying over. Was looking ay the Easy Hotel in kensigton. 40 squid a room. Can't get better than that in central London. Would feel better if there was some other MN'ers in the house though. I haven't booked yet so let me know what you're doing.

not that I really 'know' anyone, and bearing in mind I will have a very small baby at the end of Nov, I will prob have a spare room or two for someone. DH has a futon in his study and the nursery has a double bed in it (obv. baby will not be in the nursery by then).

I'll be open to discussion about it nearer the time, if anyone is desperate. I live in North Kensington.

anorak · 24/08/2005 19:21

I vote that custy shouldn't have to pay. It should be our thank you to her for organising things. It's only going to be a pound each or something.

Blu · 24/08/2005 19:23

I agree, Anorak.
And since she's had such a horrible day, I'm, withdrawing my wind-up about soya and deductions.
There!

monkeytrousers · 24/08/2005 19:27

It's 40 quid a room Giraffeski, with a double. We could share for 20 each if you can stretch to 40....As long as you dont fart or snore!

chicagomum · 24/08/2005 19:28

here here i agree with anorak, as well as having had such a lousy day , custardo is sure woking hard on organising this

Tortington · 24/08/2005 19:29

no no no! absolutley not - its only a couple of phone calls - its not difficult at all - thanks though - and stop being nice i will cry like a big soppy southerner

MarsLady · 24/08/2005 19:33

yup! I'm in that anorak!
