I rang the resturant number just now and the answer phone message said they were shut from the 15 august to sunday 28th august, annual hol maybe?

Don't know why I'm even thinking aobut the bill already actually, I will just turn up and hand over whatever cash it is decided I owe on the night.

What about everyone who is going has to hand over a cheque before the event (£50?) and they lose it if they drop out without reasonable notice? The cheque would have to be banked, obv, can't see the restaurant wanting to handle this really but I suppose it's worth asking. Ks, I remember many many notes and a calculator and some waiters talking nonsense!

re the money: i will ask the restaurant if they will accept advance payment of set meal. then only drinks to sort out.

you will all individually have to ring restaurant if this is arranged, and arrange payment and tell me you have paid.

this will sort out the wheat from the chaff so to speak - becuase loads of people always drop out. so it solves two problems in one.

would anyone have a problem with this?
