Tea Room the Fourteenth

amberlight · 21/03/2010 18:09

Welcome to the 14th instalment of the Tea Room. It's now officially spring, and we've moved the tea room to a Gipsy caravan pulled by the tea room horses, which is making its way up the countryside in an effort to follow spring. There are of course hedgerows filled with spring flowers, Mellors the handsome gardener/driver/handyperson, the usual virtual Bishops, and the assorted animals and characters from previous tea rooms. All are very welcome to join in with us parents of one (or indeed more!) for general chat and the occasional very odd conversation. Climb aboard, grab a cuppa, enjoy the view, relax!...

Daisy Oxeye! Help me!

Donki · 18/04/2010 21:28

Thankyou Oxeye! Good to see you.
As ever you brew a remarkable bucket of tea - thankyou.

The young donkey camped in the garden last night. Fun was had.

He was very tired by this evening - I practically had to tie him down to stop him orbiting the ceiling at high velocity...

RacingSnake · 18/04/2010 21:33

I was thinking visual organs of bovines, not horticulturally!

Double cube rooms, eh?

TrowelAndError · 18/04/2010 21:34

Oxeye - Actually, I didn't recognise Bede. My first thought was Beowulf, but TrowelBloke is a Grate Brane and put me straight. Then Professor Google filled in the details.

at CmotMan going to South Africa for three weeks. We need to clone OxeyePoppins and dispatch her to you.

Anyone else want a straw for the Bolly?

Donki · 18/04/2010 21:40

Thankyou T&E

oxeye · 18/04/2010 22:19

Ha ha Racing, I do have an arse like a large oxen, and am keen on a well done stew, but I was, true to Trowel's form, trying to stay green fingered!

CMOT, the SA trip doesn't happen to coincide with the World Cup does it . I am indeed used to being told that much work is done around a campfire....

Actually, in OxBloke's world that is pretty true....

OxBloke does a lot of work around a campfire?

UniS · 18/04/2010 22:53

ping. light bulb comes on over unis head as she makes oxeye flower conections. Welcome back.

Hi to new escapes. I hope you enjoy our escapades as we journey through teh year.

May I borrow the tea room guide to hedge row flowers, There were some very pretty dainty little white and yellow flowers on teh edge of the moor, and some sweet little violets and many dandelion clocks which boy likes to blow. true to form boy whined and moaned all the way up the hill, then bounced, splashed, prodded and had a great time along the top and all the way down. We were walking back from having dropped DH and car at cricket. tis 4 miles by road, but only about 2 by direct over the moor walk.

Tonight I painted the new kitchen ceiling AGAIN. Boy and I did a little experimental painting on his bedroom wall earlier. he chose a paint called " sexy pink" from the tester pots ! SO there are now 2 squares of bright pink on the white woodchip. will be adding other shapes and colours as we come across them. tomorrow he will gain soft peach - as I'll be painting kitchen wall that colour. Eventually the woodchip is coming off, but till then he can have as many clashing colours as he likes.

Don;t worry Amber, Mellors won;t freeze, he can share one of my blankets...

oxeye · 18/04/2010 23:17

Oh Trowel, I am rumbled. Is it going to be a tango-off at dawn for Mr Mellors???

thumbwitch · 19/04/2010 01:13

Aha! I was also wondering where our queen had gone to and see she has cropped up again under new guise - excellent.

How are the hormones, Oxeye? settling down at all? Did you get them checked by the quack?

UniS - God I hate woodchip - the first house I lived in was fully coated in it - but after we'd stripped it off the kitchen/diner we found out why and elected to leave it up in the other areas as we weren't up for replastering every room, just the first one was bad enough. [lightweight emoticon]

Donki, have some carrots to get over your ignominious experience. Shall we paint your hooves gold so that the Bishops recognise that you are not a Beast of Burden but a bona fide denizen of the caravan?

oxeye · 19/04/2010 01:22

Hi Thumb - thanks for asking well I didn't get hormones checked, doesn't seem much point. Have had a bone scan but haven't got round to getting results I have however taken your collective advice and owing to a Boots 3 for 2 have gathered a selection of hopefully suitable tablets to give them a whirl

Have to say, started with Menopace, and they do seem rather good!

Glad you have finished the Index. Is Mr Thumb behaving a leetle bit better?

thumbwitch · 19/04/2010 01:31

He is actually - he cracked after about 3 days of me being sulky quiet and we had a quiet discussion about how his lack of helpfulness had affected me very badly - he apologised and promised to do better (the former really didn't matter, the latter did!) and has been better since.

Glad the tabs are working out for you! Last time I was back in the UK I got Dad to start on Coenzyme Q10 to help with his energy levels - he's felt a lot better since he started on those as well. See, it annoys me when people say supplements are a load of rubbish and just a waste of money (not saying anyone here did!) because I have seen the results they can achieve, so it's always good to have more positive stories, even if it is only anecdotal evidence.

CMOTdibbler · 19/04/2010 08:30

He assures me that it has nothing to do with the world cup at all. Have had strong words on the subject of when would be least inconvenient to go.

Could do with some supplements now I think - am feeling run down and yuck.

Only 5 days till holiday time, and of course, I can't go anywhere this week which is nice !

I like the idea of random paint colours in boys room UniS. SOft peach for the kitchen sounds lovely

teafortwo · 19/04/2010 08:49

Sterry - Welcome, welcome, welcome!!! A friend of mine runs a wonderful little beautiful coffee den and has supplied me with a big bag of deliciously rich beans. Help yourself to a morning cup... or seven!

Ohhh- oxeye!!! HOW LOVELY TO SEE YOU!!!

Amber - How did the eeeerrrmmm...party go? What does Amberboy want to study? Will he be living away from home next year?

It is warm and sooooo sunny in Paris and Spring holidays have just started!!! After overall a terribly long, hard, rather sad and stressful winter I am ready to strut wonder the streets of Paris feeling smug happy to be here and really alive! - HURRAY!!!

Scout19075 · 19/04/2010 09:23

Can I join in from under the weight of a sleeping baby?

I'm so that spring seems to finally have sprung!

CMOTdibbler · 19/04/2010 09:30

Welcome Scout ! Coffee and danish ?

Glad to see you looking so perky Tea The sun does make you feel so much better doesn't it ?

MaryBS · 19/04/2010 10:11
thumbwitch · 19/04/2010 12:37

croissants with chopped up mars bar? That sounds truly decadent and rather lush, tbh!

Glad your DH has forgiven you Mary - I'm sure he knows it was an accident.

Scout - welcome to our caravan of requirement! Mind the bishops and the bison and watch out for the random guineapigs that infest the furniture and steal the twiglets.

Autumn is falling here - the leaves are changing colour and there is a welcome coolness in the air - yay!

amberlight · 19/04/2010 14:59

Amberboy's overnight stay at the party went well, all things considered. No riot police this time, no-one taken away by ambulance, etc.

He hasn't a clue what he wants to study, which isn't very helpful really. The deadline is next month to write up his mini CV thingy.
