Well folks, here we are!

We were on the brink of filling the old thread so I thought we'd better start a new one now. There was a rumour that we were going to be evicted from our old premises, but we managed right at the last minute to get an extension on the lease. So it's business as usual. We're still in our charming old tea room, overlooking our beautiful garden complete with ha-ha and duck pond. And Mellors the gardener.

Please come and join us for a celebratory drink.

No Bocca it wasn't a French song - it was the gospel classic "oh happy days"

But...oh oh oh - Oh yes - Bocca - Listening to Jacques Brel is very much encouraged in the tea household.... I was very excited to notice about two weeks ago a man in our local market who had a mouth just like him! Lots of nudging of dh, whispering and nodding of head towards said man. Who may or may not have gone home to write a song about the humiliation of having an English woman virtually pointing at your mouth, whispering and giggling!

Here we go - it has subtitles if, like me, you don't understand everything he says!!!

Interesting fact - The French have claimed JB for themselves, but infact, he was born in Belgium!

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 10:56

Morning all!

Why Don't you all just go and have more babies you infertile wusses!!!

Ooops. I got all overcome and infected by out of cafe vibes there for a moment!

welcome, Rev, we haven't met before, but welcome and thrice welcome to thee!

Reindeer, perhaps you can be my second sister? My true sister who is more lovely than lovely teaches near London and gives me Sensible And Firm child rearing advice

OOooo, Suggestive Rolls, there you are JM, something you could do on next week's programme!

Bocca - I am in awe. Not only a haha but one of only two in Canada! Hat's off! I love ha-has, it is one of my and DH life aspirations to live in a house with a ha-ha. I think it comes from watching The Pallsers as a DaisyBud - the dashing young blade leapt over the ha-ha at one point....

Mistlechick I too thought about putting racing pig in the aga to warm over, but being about 40 years older than you I didn't. Ain't life sad sometimes!

Rightio, DaisyBoy is off to Toy Library and I must work a bit more!

mistlethrushinapeartree · 16/12/2008 10:56

I think that we ought really to be listening to MJ, RC, and milk42 singing MJ's version of 12 days which he has been teaching the others... I also think that we should put our minds to a Teashop version.

"On the first day of Christmas to the Tearoom I did bring some soup and some lewd looking rolls..."

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 10:57

There, we not quite Posh Totty Chefs in Daisy Villas, but here is a little icing work that DaisyBoy did yesterday!

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 10:59

OOOps, remember it was that naughtly little Minxy Milk42 that put poor racing pig in aga....

Sorry Mistle, I know your boy would never do that

Or, he'd say Guten Morgen Racing Schwein as he did so

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 11:01

Morning Rev, yes, it's amazing how much more one can pack into life with only one ankle biter isn't it?

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 11:01

Mistle envious of the singing and the big cheeses. A friend did a 9 Carols and Cakes party at the weekend

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 11:06

oh my God, rev - You just reminded me - I have a child???!!!!??? Oh yes...

You are right!!!!

Looks in kitchen - thank goodness, she is fine, just drinking the bleech while I mumsnet as usual!!!! Phew!

mistlethrushinapeartree · 16/12/2008 11:15

Rev you don't know how envious I am of people with 2 - I understand that the children ACTUALLY PLAY TOGETHER some of the time WITHOUT THEIR MOTHER !!!!!!

On the second day of Christmas to the tearoom I did bring, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls..."

Daisy - very probably

However, he has found the large, pink plastic ball that the chincillas (one at a time) can use when they are pretending to be over-size hamsters, and I think that he is going to see if racingpig is better at steering that Mrmistlechin - who decides where to go, sometimes at great speed, and quite likes bumping into doors on purpose (I think he likes the rebound and the sound)

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 11:29

On the third day of Christmas to the tearoom I did bring, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls

mistlethrushinapeartree · 16/12/2008 11:35

On the fourth day of Christmas to the tearoom I did bring, four fascinators, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 12:54

mistlethrushinapeartree · 16/12/2008 12:56

So bold and underlining at the same time doesn't work then...

Ds does some great ones in church.. filled his nappy very audibly (vicar smirked) in between his christening and communion - managed to hang on until after communion before I sent Dh out with him to deal with it - thought people would think that we'd abandoned the service having had him 'done' otherwise...

More recently he tested out the acoustics of the church VERY loudly just after 'the Peace of the Lord...'; sang 'Holy Holy Holy' after everyone else had just stopped and as recently as Sunday wailed very loudly for quite some time after I told him that he wouldn't be getting the biscuit as he'd been very noisily trying to attract the attention of his two friends who were sitting 2 rows further back....

However, I see that he is now happily relocating the pile of leaves that Mellors did yesterday to a different place in the garden... Where is Mellors btw - I've not seen him yet this morning...

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 13:28

On the sixth day of Christmas to the tearoom I did bring, six Mary Jane shoes, five feather boas, four fascinators, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls!

Rev - I'd like to remember the whole church event as the candles error really!

Boiler blokes just gone out to get a part... it is nearly ready for action!!!!

BoccaDellaNativita · 16/12/2008 15:13

Crikey! It's busy out there.

Yesterday's soup was delicious and not at all garbage-like.

Tea - I know that Brel is Belgian (I quite like that parlour game of naming famous Belgians and always get a point for Tintin) but he does sing in fairly clear French. In fact, my favourite Frenchmen for their lovely diction are Daniel Auteuil and Gerard Depardieu (after whom my car is named).

Poinsettia - I think you will find that I described us all (in the eyes of some, I fear) as sub fertile, as we have all managed to contribute once to the gene pool.

Rev - I do have 24 under 12, but only for an hour and a half a week, as I run a Brownie pack!

Tea - This isfor you, when the boiler man's done his stuff. Wallow and enjoy!

As for where I found the Rev, I hang out a bit in her http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/philosophy_religion_spirituality/665064-Reluctant-Worshippers-Lurkers-an d-Passers-By-Week-9-The-Nativity virtual church, where there are some very thoughtful discussions. It sometimes get a tiny bit intimidating when the learned theologians weigh in, but it's always very friendly and hospitable - with free Hobnobs when parish funds permit.

On the Twelve days of Christmas, my true gave to me ....

seven lemon muffins, six Mary Jane shoes, five feather boas, four fascinators, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls.

Must dash.

Second attempt at a link to Rev's virtual church. I'll be there later, Rev, I promise.

On the seventh day of Christmas to the tea room I did bring seven aspidistras flying, six Mary Jane shoes, five feather boas, four fascinators, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls!

reindeersnake · 16/12/2008 15:27

Sorry, cross (in every sense of the word) posted. On the eighth day of Christmas to the tea room I did bring eight aspidistras flying, seven lemon muffins, etc. Decided to use preview button this time, or maintain the the stray ^ are actually Christmas decorations.
