Well folks, here we are!

We were on the brink of filling the old thread so I thought we'd better start a new one now. There was a rumour that we were going to be evicted from our old premises, but we managed right at the last minute to get an extension on the lease. So it's business as usual. We're still in our charming old tea room, overlooking our beautiful garden complete with ha-ha and duck pond. And Mellors the gardener.

Please come and join us for a celebratory drink.

OMG!! PMSL at the 12 Days of Christmas tearoom song!!
Sadly I am incapable of adding anything, my brain has gone to mush as DS woke up around midnight crying with a snotty runny nose and DH was coughing all night. I nearly sent them both out to sleep on the sofa!

Thank you so much for the definitions of an Aga and a ha-ha. Don't think I need a ha-ha as I have no ornamental sheep but oh... in my next house I want an Aga!!

Tea, so glad your boiler situation is all fixed!! It was a nightmare when our water heater blew up, I felt for you!

Bye for now lovies!

BoccaDellaNativita · 16/12/2008 18:10

reindeersnake - Your child is clearly the spiritual younger sibling of my own dear offspring. The resemblance is uncanny. ((hugs)) and ((supportive pats on the arm)) coming in your direction now.

jacksmama - does the real Nigella have an Aga, I wonder?

Just found this - now THIS is real Canadian Content!! It's The Twelve Days of Christmas by Bob and Doug Mackenzie

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 20:09

Ha ha ha - I love my bath song ... and the Canadian song - Actually - I had a few Kiwi mates - the "They should have made it 2 days - 12 is too hard for us!" and the beer reminds me of their laid back cool and easy going attitude!

But we Brits used to be quite cool too look...

Evening ladies, just thought I'd pop back for a second visit to see how the madness celebrations are going. That & the need for a stiff drink, having just lost an argument with 8 year old DS.
Sparkling Rose anyone? - it's nicely chilled.

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 20:19

In my household we are far from cool... this is dds current favourite Christmas clip... she found it by herself - by wacking the keyboard over and over until something good happened... and insists on it being played over and over again!!!!

ca.youtube.com/watch?v=N2LmlidHdoQ

It was in a better state when she first started watching it - so I am hoping she will wear it out!!!!

reindeersnake · 16/12/2008 20:21

Hello, girltalk. Rose sounds perfect. Am in the process of losing an argument with a 2-year old. Definitely need rose.

girltalk · 16/12/2008 20:27

I'm halfway through my second glass so forgive me if I stagger around the tea room. Felt like some light relief though the doggie video is not quite what I had in mind. Is it just me or are people who dress up their animals like that, a bit ?

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 20:31

Well GT - you have missed loads of fun - we now have our own rev, we are re-writing the 12 days of Christmas and the oven turned out to be an aga - v good for lambs and that is to name just a few things!!!

T42 opens the door with a Hollywood smile and sees it is snowing and Mellors has a one horse open sleigh ready to go - come on girltalk and reindeersnake lets hop in!!!

ca.youtube.com/watch?v=b8U5ZSqPph0&feature=related

girltalk · 16/12/2008 20:37

Lovely idea T42! You can't beat a bit of Bing! I haven't met Mellors yet, does he have rippling, bronzed arms keeping a firm grip on the reins, or is my imagination getting the better of me?

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 20:48

girltalk - Mellors can be anything you want him to be. That is the magic of the tearoom!!!

girltalk · 16/12/2008 21:01

This place just gets better. Just checked out the 12 days & would like to add 9 cocktail shakers shaking.
Is the Rev for spiritual guidance or is he here to save us?

reindeersnake · 16/12/2008 21:15

Wow! That was exhilerating! I think we might need something mulled now, rather than chilled. GT, do you think Mellors might be allowed to put his shirt on now and cover that gooseflesh those rippling muscles? We'd hate him to catch a chill.

Is Rev Justabout a man?? I really need to dig out those reading glasses (which of course none of ever or will ever need in the tea room). I had already misdiagnosed Milkfortwo as a boy, although that may have been due to the extremely cute chic snowsuit she was wearing at the time.

JacksFirstChristmasMama · 16/12/2008 21:27

Errrmmm no, rev is a woman. As she said a few posts up, about feeding her son sweets. I think girltalk did a type

girltalk · 16/12/2008 21:32

Poor Mellors - of course he can have his shirt back, I was just smelling holding it for him. Mulled wine sounds nice.

Sorry I didn't follow the whole thread, I just assumed the Rev was a chap but my eyes aren't focussing too well just now. Actually thought person in black was a waitress so what do I know? Maybe mulled wine isn't such a good idea, even my dog has left the room in disgust.

christmasteafortwo · 16/12/2008 22:01

Funny - in rl dd has an adorable cheeky cute face rather than a pretty pretty face so even when in a dress she is often mistaken for a boy!!!

BoccaDellaNativita · 16/12/2008 22:16

Oooh, rose. How lovely - I'm partial to a nice rose. Thank you, girltalk.

The tea room is indeed a magical place. Some people say, for example, that Mellors resembles George Clooney. Others that he resembles Sean Bean, Daniel Craig or Barack Obama. And yet they are all correct. Likewise, the tea room is like the tardis and can accommodate an infinite number of sofas, wing chairs, potted palms, string quartets and all the other accoutrements of tea room civilisation.

Anyone fancy a bop to a classic of the 70s? Put on your flares now.

On the tenth day of Christmas, to the tea room I did bring

ten gardeners gardening, nine cocktail shakers shaking, eight aspidistras flying, seven lemon muffins, six Mary Jane shoes, five feather boas, four fascinators, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls.

Well, we had to, didn't we?

On the elventh day of Christmas to the tearoom I did bring

eleven racingpigs burrowing, ten gardners gardening, nine cocktail shakers shaking, eight asipidistras flying, seven lemon muffins, six Mary Jane shoes, five feather boas, four fascinators, three cups of mocha, two currant buns and some soup with some lewd looking rolls

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 22:44

Bocca darling, don't worry, it wasn't me going on about infertile/ subfetile wusses, it was an external non-cafe alter ego moment. I know exactly where we stand on the gene pool!

RS yes, much of my work is involved in negotiating, and yet, DaisyBoy wins hands down everytime....

Church my current problemo.... DaisyBoy and I are going to the Children's crib service on Christmas Eve (his first church experience and he is wildly excited). He gets to dress up. We've been going through the Christmas story to see who he wants to be. He has picked Mary

Right, girls, pass the Rose! I have been listening to George Michael this afternoon, but can't do those links... can I hum a bit./..

"Yeah, yeah, well you've gotta have Faith be na be na nn nna na"

BoccaDellaNativita · 16/12/2008 22:55

Daisyboy - I'm glad that daisyboy is in touch with his feminine side. I'll be going over to the Rev's virtual church in a mo, to read about the nativity.

But until then, your mention of George Michael has reminded me of this classic Christmas song.

OP posts:
reindeersnake · 16/12/2008 22:57

DaisyBoy is now officially cast as Mary in Nativity panto.

Just doing the final running order.

poinsettia99divine · 16/12/2008 23:04

Mistle he will be SOOO happy! Actually, people always think he is a girl

Even his new nursery who today sent me a letter with "all the information" but
(1) spelt DaisyBoy's name wrong
(2) got my and DH's name wrong (we don't have the same surname and they spelt the one they plumped for wrong)
(3) omitted to tell me what time nursery ran from....
and wrote "we are so looking forward to seeing her....

BoccaDellaNativita · 16/12/2008 23:06

Eeek! I'd forgotten about the nativity panto. Can Baby Bocca have a role? She can bring her own spotty dog costume (hand made by me in a time-on-my-hands sub-fertile mother-of-one stylee), if that helps.

And we need to plan the craft fair. I'm thinking Thursday morning. About 11am. I'll be bringing some modish knitted scarves. And possibly some bunting in festive colours.

OOH, we have Tinsel Bunting in Daisy Villas
