Welcome to the Tea rooms newest incarnation. A cozy log cabin with a roaring log fire, comfy chintz sofas and a dedicated man about the house, our Butler, Mellors. Out of the windows you can see sparkling white snow gently drifted up under the green Christmas trees and bright blue skies. Children can all be packed off to play healthy outdoor stuff while we stay snug n warm in here with our mulled wine, tea, artisan hot chocolate and other beverages served in mugs, glasses or buckets.

The usual rules apply - no fisticuffs. And no messing with the aspidistra.

The soup was good at lunch time. There is a juge vat of spaghetti bolognese on the side and a big bowl of salad for tea.
Enjoy!

CMOTDibbler · 29/04/2014 19:21

Ooh, thank you Donki Smile

I had a lovely cycle (23km) in the sun today - on the backroads you could smell the bluebells and the trees are thick with blossom. Life seems so much better outside. Apart from going up the steep hill.

Donki · 29/04/2014 19:45

There is some Wine too for anyone who wishes. A nice rioja or a montepulciano.

beanandspud · 29/04/2014 19:48

Thank you Donki, I'll have a Rioja please! There are some nice olives here stuffed with garlic and almonds to go with it.

Donki · 29/04/2014 20:01

Mmmm. Here you go Bean
The olives sound tasty.

beanandspud · 29/04/2014 20:27

Cheers Donki!

How has your week been so far?

Donki · 29/04/2014 21:33

I'm hoping the anti-depressants will pick things up a bit more soon. They are definitely havingan effect, but I still really lack motivation and am having difficulty sleeping.

But the weather was nice today, and tomorrow I will go and see a friend with a lovely dog and three baby pigmy goats (who have just arrived) :)

UniS · 29/04/2014 21:53

CMOT - sounds like a good bike ride.

Donki- hang on in there. life will improve eventually. Meanwhile, have an ear rub and another bucket of carrot wine.

For those in the know, how high should scooter handle bars be? It's only taken SB 2 1/2 years to kind of get the hang of scooting he's not fully confident but, thanks to the balance bike which he's now a whiz at, he's a lot better but it looks so small on him since the last time he had it out. The handle bars do raise but I have no idea where they should be on a small boy.

Scout19075 · 29/04/2014 22:11

Gah! "Compared to the last time he had it out" not whatever garbage is up there.

Baby pygmy goats are very small indeed.

I hope the sympathetic (or otherwise) licking helped a bit Donki.

Scout - DS has had his handlebars so that his arms were a bit bent - but certainly not shoulder height!

Jacksmania · 30/04/2014 01:10

Baby pygmy goats sound adorable :)

I can also offer male roasted carrots for anyone who particularly enjoys carrots.

Jacksmania · 30/04/2014 01:10

Maple. MAPLE roasted carrots.

No gender discrimination against female carrots .

Donki · 30/04/2014 07:27

My mind was boggling JM

I was wondering how on earth you could tell!
And then I wondered if it was a euphemism...

Donki · 30/04/2014 07:31

Sympathetic licking from mistlehound was very welcome :)

The carrot wine was, erm stronger than I expected (hic) - and the maple roasted carrots appeared to be perfectly normal carrots upon closer inspection, genderless and very tasty.

Donki · 30/04/2014 07:31

Thank you for all the morale boosting donkey treats.

CMOTDibbler · 30/04/2014 07:33

You must sniff the baby goats, and admire their tiny soft little hooves. I had a pygmy goat as a child (we had dairy goats too) and he was lovely. He would sit in the front seat of dads van, and once disgraced himself by eating the tax disc which was a fun phone call to ask for a replacement Grin

Male roasted carrots sound, um, interesting JM Wink

Carrot danish pastries anyone?

UniS · 30/04/2014 08:07

I thought of you lot and raised my tea mug to you as I munched a piece of very nice RL carrot cake yesterday.

Off to work today, 3 trailers full of cable etc to unload, dry and put away. Hope the boss has stopped off for stickey buns.
