Welcome to the Tea rooms newest incarnation. A cozy log cabin with a roaring log fire, comfy chintz sofas and a dedicated man about the house, our Butler, Mellors. Out of the windows you can see sparkling white snow gently drifted up under the green Christmas trees and bright blue skies. Children can all be packed off to play healthy outdoor stuff while we stay snug n warm in here with our mulled wine, tea,artisan hot chocolate and other beverages served in mugs, glasses or buckets.

The usual rules apply - no fisticuffs. And no messing with the aspidistra.

Another Hurrah for boy! Nice ramble with Donki this evening - we took in 2 churches, a field with a muddy puddle (for the dog), some rabbits and a cat for dog amusement.

Thank you to Mistlethrush for letting me join her and Mistlehound on their evening perambulation.

It was very good for me - and Mistlehound has a lovely nature.

And hurrah for Boy from here too. :)

I am taking the YD and a friend are on a trip today - not sure where to yet. Trips with friend can never go far because we can't set off until nearly lunch time (friend's parents run a Chinese takeaway, so the family get up around 11am on tge holidays...)

I think I need to reiterate with MrD that I expect him to do his share of the holidays when he moves out. He seems to have reverted to hoping I will do them.

You're quite right. You need to set out your expectations about how MrDonki will do his fair share of parenting. It can't all be on his terms, as that would not be fair on you or the YD.

SB and I are making chocolate eggs and Easter cards this morning.

MrD is in mourning about a flat he really liked in North Leeds - but has said he will try and rent the flat in the small town where we live (but the opposite side).

So something had obviously got through about him needing to be around for the YD.

Took the YD and friend up onto the NY Moors today - our favourite place on Wheeldale Moor near the Roman Road.

It was a bit chilly in the wind, but fun was had building dams in a small tributary of Wheeldale Beck.

It is v. near where my Dad's ashes were scattered.
