Turkish Tearoom? Turkish Bath? Anyway, a Turkish delight awaits...

Picture the scene...

From the edge of every terrace and every step hang brilliantly white stalactites, and you can hear the joyful splashing of the waters of the hot springs as they cascade down over slopes where their flow is impeded only by clumps of oleanders.

Nearby is an oasis of refreshments, in our Pamukkale residence, air conditioned and with white washed generously proportioned rooms, with Mellors at the ready, to offer Turkish Massage to anyone who wishes.

The NMBs are in their element, whereas the bishops seem to have found their speedoes again.

Priest's hole is at the back, in a quiet shaded area, stocked with What Car magazines, Turkish rugs and Turkish delight

Perhaps you'll have to get DH to be a bit more direct... 'Not this one - other one - over there >>>' Grin

Tee2072 · 25/08/2011 13:49

Apparently they just remodled the bathroom and decided they didn't need one. Makes me wonder if that's why it's been available for awhile. I surely can't be the only person who likes to soak in a tub! Never mind that they are positioning it as a 'family' home!

mistlethrush · 25/08/2011 13:50

MC is the only one that uses the bath in our house Blush

We do have a shower though Grin

LOL bean. I have a special stash of grown up bath bubbles, no child is allowed to use it!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/08/2011 14:11

I too could not live for long without a bath, although for the moment we have the opposite problem of not having a shower. My weakness/addiction is fancy-schmancy soap which I am Not Willing to share.

mistlethrush · 25/08/2011 14:22

You see, I knew there was a good reason... Can't use bubbles. Can't use most things like that. Can't use most soaps. So baths somewhat boring in comparison....

beanandspud · 25/08/2011 14:26

MT - I think that's why I never really enjoyed the reality of having a bath with Small Bean - sitting in 3 inches of water at 37 degrees surrounded by plastic just wasn't fun. (And no bubbles to hide my wobbly bits Blush)

mistlethrush · 25/08/2011 14:30

I have never, I repeat NEVER shared a bath with MC Grin. On the very odd occasion I do have a bath (when no shower available) it has to be hot at least....

Tee2072 · 25/08/2011 16:20

I would never share a bath with LCT for that same reason! I want it 40 C and up to my chin!

CMOTdibbler · 25/08/2011 16:30

Tiddler and I share a bath - in fact in the bathroom remodelling had a top priority of a big bath. We have it very full, and no toys when sharing. And these days, he likes a hot bath,so its fab to chill out together in there

Huzzah for Ambers Biscuit. The wandering off sounds totally normal to me - a company I know developed a system to RFID tag equipment so you knew where it was in the dept - all the non doctors who saw it all said 'yay, now we can tag the Drs so we know where they are'

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 25/08/2011 20:12

Yeh for Amber!

We love baths and as we have an agalookalike, always have baths on baking days. Wriggle only ikes bathing with Papa, who has lots of toys and playing. I am very second best, as I prefer relaxing. This means I get very few baths. Sad We woud never heat water just for a bath. Water is always very hot and very deep. Friends of Wriggle can never stand it.

Jacksmania · 25/08/2011 20:39

JB and I used to have lots of baths together, but since, these days, he loves bucketloads of hideous bubblegum-smelling bubbles, and has every bath toy he owns in there, "Mummy, do you want to get in the tub with me?" isn't such a tempting offer anymore :o

Thumbwitch · 26/08/2011 01:31

miniThumb used to love his baths. We never shared (I'm another who needs it to be as hot as I can stand it, which is waaaay too hot for little people) but he was quite happy for me to put him in the bath with his toys and send me away so he could play by himself (with the door open, we're only 10 steps away from it in the living room so we can hear him and call out if he's quiet).
Then he was ill and now he won't be left alone in the bath (Haven't worked out the connection yet) so one of us has to stay with him.

We don't "do" bubblebath. I am Obviously Depriving my son here, but it just isn't necessary IMO. I don't have any in my bath either, just salt (which doesn't combine well with bubbles - makes them pop).

Spring is springing here - blossoms are starting to appear on the crabapple and the flowering cherry - the teatree is already in flower and so are the daffodils and primroses. Just need it to warm up a leetle bit (not too much!) and I'll be happy. :)

beanandspud · 26/08/2011 07:49

Good morning tearoom!

The kettle is on, Small Bean has just left for nursery with Daddy and the house is quiet - bliss!

Thumbwitch · 26/08/2011 07:53

Sounds idyllic, bean - now, what to do!

Brew sounds like a good start - choc chip muffin to go with that?

Tee2072 · 26/08/2011 08:19

Bean same here! It's Feet Up Friday! Except I've already put in one load of wash, set the still burnt pot on the stove to boil with vinegar (it's almost unburnt!) and am working on a shopping list for tomorrow. Then I'll put my feet up!

Yes please, Thumb! Muffin, YUM!

beanandspud · 26/08/2011 08:22

Brew and choc chip muffin - perfect!

I'm on a mission of Silly Jobs That Never Get Done this morning - so far I have hung 5 pictures that have been propped up around the house for months and printed some photos of Small Bean to take to the out-laws tomorrow.

Next job is clearing out Small Bean's chest of drawers.

There's just no end to the excitement here...

mistlethrush · 26/08/2011 09:08

I think that I might have a day of that sort of jobs tomorrow -
pictures to hang (tick)
things to sort through and throw things out (tick)
MC's clothes to sort - esp for school so I know what I need to panic buy (tick)
Although the lawn also needs mowing.... so if it doesn't rain all day, might get that done.

amberlight · 26/08/2011 13:46

Did someone say muffins are available?
Can readily share some rather splendid virtual choc truffles too, if anyone wants one? Sort of continued celebration of week's news here for me.
Lawn...heck, yes, I hate to think how long mine is but it keeps raining on us here so it'll have to wait a bit.

Thumbwitch · 26/08/2011 14:20

ooo, truffles as well! Thanks amber. Am so very pleased you've had such a good news week after all the recent crap stuff. :)

mistlethrush · 26/08/2011 14:21

I need to borrow mellors and his scythe for mine.

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 26/08/2011 19:07

Ours can barely support the grzing by two guinea pigs. And dh is horticulture lecturer! Blush

beanandspud · 26/08/2011 20:08

Mowing the lawn is one of the very few remaining Blue jobs in our house.

Wine anyone? Jobs are done, SB is asleep and the curry is ordered. I just need to get motivated to pack bags etc. for weekend with the out-laws...

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 26/08/2011 21:45

Blue job??
