Turkish Tearoom? Turkish Bath? Anyway, a Turkish delight awaits...

Picture the scene...

From the edge of every terrace and every step hang brilliantly white stalactites, and you can hear the joyful splashing of the waters of the hot springs as they cascade down over slopes where their flow is impeded only by clumps of oleanders.

Nearby is an oasis of refreshments, in our Pamukkale residence, air conditioned and with white washed generously proportioned rooms, with Mellors at the ready, to offer Turkish Massage to anyone who wishes.

The NMBs are in their element, whereas the bishops seem to have found their speedoes again.

Priest's hole is at the back, in a quiet shaded area, stocked with What Car magazines, Turkish rugs and Turkish delight

Hope MRI OK Amber.

Tee - we're, at some stage, going to have to get MC's perforated ear drum mended - consultant has said put it off until he's a bit bigger if we can because a) less fiddly with larger child and b) eustation tube will be wider, so less likely to get infection, so less likely to reperfoate and need a 2nd mend - which is always more difficult than the first.

MC is spending most of his time with a boy 2.8yrs older than him - they seem to be very nicely matched - and MC has been invited to spend our 'day off' with him so DH will have a day to ourselves later in the week. Much music and talking....

Back. Ultrasounds showed they'd lost the marker that was supposed to mark the X where the surgeon aims. MRI scan was done. Very clanky indeed. I've had a few before and they're awful. Then mammograms.
Lump gone. Vanished. Chemo has vanquished it.
I'm knackered, if you'll pardon my language, but that's a heck of a result. Smaller op should result.

Thumbwitch · 15/08/2011 16:59

Hurrah! Sorry you had a clanky time, very Hmm re lost marker (perhaps it got zapped away?) and very very VERY pleased that lump has gone - hurrah!!

CMOTdibbler · 15/08/2011 17:43

WoooHoooo for the disappearance of Ambers lump - that is totally fantastic news. Those markers are quite capable of beggaring off - I have seen it before. Will they be putting a new one in ?

mistlethrush · 15/08/2011 17:51

Grin at goodnews! Wine and Biscuit supplied....

amberlight · 15/08/2011 18:09

CMOT, after the ultrasound and MRI, they resorted to mammograms to see if they could find it. They reckon they know where it is now, more or less. Or the surgeon can have a sort of "X marks the spot" competition with the staff to see who can guess the closest position... Shock

Jacksmania · 15/08/2011 18:59

Amber, so happy re good news!!! :):):):):):):)

Just popping in to say not only am I a fully qualified yoga teacher, but also an employed one :o - they liked my practice class, and I will be teaching beginners' yoga as of September!

Tee2072 · 15/08/2011 19:03

Whoot to the lack of lump!

Whoot to yoga teaching!

Whoot to the big empty closet that used to hold LCT's cot/amby/jumper!

It's Whoot!s all around!

UniS · 15/08/2011 19:13

Hurrah. Does all this call for
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
bunting and Wine and Biscuits

amberlight · 15/08/2011 20:09

BiscuitBiscuit

Jacksmania · 15/08/2011 20:27

@ BiscuitBiscuit

stickwithit · 15/08/2011 20:30

Whoot, whoot, whoot!!!!!!

Just logged in after a few days of broadband troubles- what lovely news in the tea room this evening.

I am only a newbie so apologies if this is not the done thing but I wonder if a glass or two of bubbly all round is called for?

Scout19075 · 15/08/2011 20:35

YAY for everyone!

CMOTdibbler · 15/08/2011 20:35

stickwithit, offering bubbly is exactly the right thing to do Grin And as it is a double celebration, may I present twiglet a la mode ? Always the perfect counterpoint to a glass of bolly

Donki · 15/08/2011 20:47

Are they wheat free twiglets CMOT?

CMOTdibbler · 15/08/2011 20:52

Of course - I never cook anything thats not GF/WF. How did you find eating wf in Alaska ?

Jacksmania · 15/08/2011 20:52

If they're not wheat-free, I could offer some craisins, picked up off the floor (though not off my foot [boak] - I posted a thread about that last week, don't know where it's gone but will try to find it).

Bolly is always welcome, especially for those of us who are still at work having to deal with the public Grin. (Different time zone.)

Donki · 15/08/2011 20:55

Don't mind if I do then CMOT - I haven't had a RL twiglet for some time... Thankyou

WF in Alaska - doable by going for rice/salad options when eating out. Fish free would have been a challenge. Got wheat free rye bread to make sandwiches when we took picnic lunches with us. :)

(Plus my aunt has a friend with Coeliac's so she has had plenty of practice)

Scout19075 · 15/08/2011 21:15

I had high expectations for tonight (job wise that is) and instead I'm sitting here feeling sorry for myself. Sad

Must...

...crack...

...on.

beanandspud · 15/08/2011 21:27

Fantastic news Amber - hurrah!

And great news about yoga classes.

Have bought some more Wine for the tearoom Monday night celebrations.

Scout - could this be an early birthday party as well?

UniS · 15/08/2011 21:49

Crack on then Scout- sooner those jobs are done sooner your back here with bolly and surprising twiglets...
Or
You could just forget the jobs, pull up a comfy chair and settle in for teh night.

I am knitting chain mail. Someone came up with some slightly sparkly blue wool and some grey , together they look OK. Should do as they are the left overs from when said somebody knitted a chain mail for one of teh mummers costumes.

UnSerpentQuiCourt · 15/08/2011 22:18

UniS, I have a large sack of knitted chain mail in my garage (designed to fit 8-year olds). Has already been used for two school plays and a birthday partty. Always useful.

Amber - bravo!

Donki · 15/08/2011 22:43

Oh no, sledge hammer time again.
The Young Donkey is still awake, and asking what happens if he stays awake all night....

Aaaaargh!

UniS · 15/08/2011 22:47

Only in the tea room.... would I find as random a set of co-incidences.
