I need a 'tag' to start to advertise the eco-nursery, any ideas?

The eco-nursery is closer to being real

I now need to start advertising it - but I need a 'tag' you know the sort of thing I need

I'm trying not to sound too naff but want something like......'caring for children today; considering the planet tomorrow' but that is really naff

Any help/ideas etc

see I would change that Katy, make the name sound eco too, is that impossible?

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 03/10/2007 20:39

I don't think a strapline does need much more. The detail is in the blurb that follows. Not that I'm pushing my own idea I think you need to keep it to a minimum of words.

fingerwoman · 03/10/2007 20:41

i like toomanygraves'

"Your children/their planet/thriving together"

Twigaletto · 03/10/2007 20:41

where their future matters

is a good strong strapline

Katymac · 03/10/2007 20:42

Existng business (with OFSTED Outstanding) has name "childminding@wc" so "Nursery@wc" seemed logical (repeat business/known name/existing market share)

I wouldn't make the name too Eco. It may come across as rather too lentil-weavery IYSWIM, could put some people off thinking it'll be all hessian and lentils.

Katymac · 03/10/2007 20:44

So either

"Your children/their planet/thriving together"

or

"where their future matters"

Hmm do I need a misson statement or ethos as well (possibly with a bit more info?)?

Katymac · 03/10/2007 20:51

Well I killed that didn't I?

OP posts:
Katymac · 03/10/2007 21:01

your children-your planet-caring for both??

hennipenni · 03/10/2007 22:01

Your children-their future.

nannynick · 03/10/2007 22:06

Do you need a tag line? What is it's purpose?

I would try to incorporate 'Grow' as it has connections with the WC bit, plus eco-friendly I feel is about letting things grow natural.

No idea for a tag line alas.

Katymac · 03/10/2007 22:11

Mmm thanks guys

It is so hard to do this

Marketing people get loads of money for stuff like this

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 03/10/2007 22:21

The thing is it is about walking the line between
a) Enough eco, natural, no nasties stuff to suck the parents in
without
b) making it such a focus that they feel judged if they turn up with the kid in pampers. Or never go near you in the first place because they are expecting you to be barefoot in tie dye wafting a sage smudge stick about.

natural Nursery @ WC.

It's the natural choice.

Ta daa.

alibubbles · 03/10/2007 22:21

Free range child care - as opposed to battery farm nurseries

Katymac · 03/10/2007 22:22

I agree it's hard to get the balance right

I like free-range tho'

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 03/10/2007 22:25

ooh Ooh
You could have a load of blurb about

As a parent it is natural to want to do the best for your child. We at Natural Nursery want to support you in this.

We will eat healthily
use natural products
go outside whatever

  • list of things

We won't give processed food
Use chemicals on your baby's skin
etc etc

You could have a seperate page with a blurb about the building.

We do this because we want to create the most natural environment for your child.

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 03/10/2007 22:26

There is a wifey with a website called free range kids she sells slings and eco things.

See i like the double meaning of natural.

Natural - nature green etc
Natural - How could you choose anything else.

It also steps over the whole eco thing to make sure you aren't misleading. At least I think so.

NappiesLaGore · 03/10/2007 22:31

i have been greatly impressed recently with a nursery near me called '[place name] outdoor nursery'

their strap line is; 'a unique learning environment'.

is quite good, no?

agree about treading athin line. whilst loving lentil weavery in general, am a bit turned off by what i think of as eco-bandwagon jumping, and may well be skeptical of a super eco emphasised name.

tis a fabulous place btw. cant recommend highly enough! (and i thought of you when i found it , as it goes )

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 03/10/2007 22:32

The thing is people all choose/don't choose for differnt reasons.

there is a nursery near me called First Class Nursery, head and shoulders above the rest.

They have a deranged giraffe on their sign. It doesn't look like a first class giraffe to me. And a giraffe is head above the rest. The shoulders are quite far down.

Everytime I go past this nursery I find myself thinking all this then wondering if it could possibly pass muster because after all a giraffe's shoulders are still quite high.

It annoys me . I couldn't put a child of mine in there because of the giraffe. I would imagine if you are in the unhinged phase of a PFB you could be put off by all sorts of stuff. And equally swayed by other images.

SpawnCorpses · 03/10/2007 22:34

Caring for the future.

(Has that arlready been suggested?)

Katymac · 03/10/2007 22:36

Nursery@WC - A natural choice, leaving little (carbon) footprints?

Nursery@WC - Free-range childcare, your natural choice

Nursery@WC - Where their future matters

Nursery@WC - Your children/their planet/thriving together

Nursery@WC - Your children-your planet-caring for both

gosh it's hard

I have a nursery near me which is called something like Kidzchoice and similarly the name just annoys me so much.

If they can't spell/ and or think saying Kidz is clever then I don't want them looking after my ds.

boo64 · 03/10/2007 22:36

p.s. I think Natural Nursery@WC sounds fab
