Talking to your teen about money? I’d love to hear your experience

Hi everyone,
I’m doing a PhD study exploring how parents keep their children financially safe as they start managing their own money.

I’m looking to speak with parents of young people aged 13 - 17 who have their own online bank account or use a pocket money app (like GoHenry, Revolut, etc.)

The interview will take around 30 - 40 minutes and will take place online via Microsoft Teams at a date/time that suits you. We’ll talk about how you manage your child’s financial activities, any rules or boundaries you’ve put in place, and how money is generally discussed in your home. The aim is to understand any challenges families may face and help develop better ways to support these conversations.

All responses are completely anonymised, and you’re welcome to ask questions before taking part or withdraw at any point during the interview.

If this sounds like something you’d be happy to help with, please feel free to DM me privately, and I’ll send over more details about the study.

Thank you so much!

Best wishes,
FamilyFinanceResearcher
