Hello!
My name is Meg and I am a PhD researcher at the University of Manchester.
๐ฃThis post is a call for participants for my PhD project 'Women are to be seen and heard: Capturing women's lived experiences of Non-Consensual Synthetic Intimate Material' - also known as 'Deepfake Pornography' or 'Deepfakes'.
๐ฃThe project aims to gain knowledge on NSIM through the testimony of women who have lived experiences of it, and better our approaches to supporting those directly impacted by it.
๐ Please get in touch if you:
๐ Self identify as a woman who has had an image/video/audio generated or manipulated into sexual contexts without your consent by anyone in any relationship context including strangers.
๐ Had this content made, shared or threatened to be made/shared without your consent
๐ Are 18+ and had this experience whilst you were 18
๐ Live in the UK
โผ๏ธ IMPORTANT:
This study includes photographs within interviews by asking women to take/choose photographs of objects, things, places and/or spaces that represent their lived experiences of this harm through themes such as their life before, during and after the experience, impacts, ways of coping and support they received. A guidance sheet will be provided to give more information about the photograph part of the study for anyone interested.
Photographs cannot be of any identifying person or place for participants' and others' safety.
๐ฃ If you're interested, please see the below adverts for more information and what your participation looks like!
You will be paid for your time in the form of a high-street voucher.
