Off up to see my Mum fingers crossed she is ok today she took ages to come out of the sundowning yesterday for my sister but she did persevere TBF to her . Nothing planned today just a quiet afternoon hopefully, have a lovely day everyone 🤗

Same here @DirtyGertiefromno30 damp, cloudy just miserable.
Oh Claudia is fab , she finds the most passionate people making ages old foods that you just want to try. (Even though you have no hope of going there 🤣)
The choclatier in Paris last night was amazing. So knowledgeable and passionate. People curing meats, making cheese up in mountains. One guy made bread with chestnut flour it looked amazing. Hazelnut growers, the salt pans with the water from underground lakes left when the ground rose and covered the sea. An old fashioned way of doing it but being revitalised by locals forming a co op to reclaim the tradition. It's all fascinating.

Got no plans for today, got ds2 to take to dentist tomorrow (hope its not raining!)

Damm. One of my succulents upstairs is losing leaves! Have watered them all and taken the best leaves that fell to grow new ones. Went to get my special compost cos I have a leaf that's rooting and its all too wet! Its just a big clump. Had to leave it outside cos its a big bag. Now got some on windowsill to dry off. Arghhhh.

The chocolatier, chestnut bread, mountain cheeses, cured meats, hazelnut growers and those amazing salt pans are all so fascinating. I love seeing people keeping these old traditions alive 😁
And oh no, not the Succulent! 😂 At least you’ve rescued some leaves to propagate. Typical the special compost has turned into a soggy lump just when you need it! Hopefully it dries out and the little leaves survive. 🌱

Just had some banana on toast and a coffee . Mum was lovely there today but the Dr is putting Mum on a small dose of Respiridone twice a day to help her stay calm during turning and pad change. I am so sad l think I it's the beginning of the end for Mum tbh. Although it's been the beginning of the end many moons ago in reality 😭.

Sorry to hear your mum needs more meds @DirtyGertiefromno30. But if she is calmer that will affect everything else in a good way. Fingers crossed it doesn't take long to kick in. It's always sad to see people need more help with daily life but as long as it helps her its not a bad thing.
I have got the ribs in the oven. Fingers crossed. No idea what to have with them! 🤣 Have strawbs and cream for afters.
Have put washing away, done dishes and tidied up but nothing more! Lazy besom.😄

Thank you @Thebookofcarolagain🤗. I’m hoping the extra meds help Mum settle and make things a little easier for her too fingers crossed. It's really sad seeing her need more help, but if it keeps her calmer and more comfortable, that’s what matters l know . Fingers crossed they kick in quickly and she's not too out of it . 🤞
Your ribs sound lovely! I’d probably just do some chips and salad with them, easy peasy. And strawberries and cream afterwards sounds perfect! 😋
And excuse me, you’ve put washing away, done the dishes AND tidied up! That definitely doesn’t qualify as a lazy besom! 😂 You’ve done enough for one day. Put your feet up and enjoy those ribs 😁😋.
Got vegetable chilli and rice for tea and a nice cuppa 😋

Decided to do chips for me and ds2 wants waffles (as will ds1) There's salad to. 15 mins to go....fingers crossed. Ds2 is making Chantilly cream for the strawbs😋
Will report back if the ribs are a fail or success.

Yummmmmm😄 Much better than takeaway, meat was falling off the bones.

I may use thicker 'runny' honey next time or not use as much. Once you turn them it doesn't stick much to the hump side. And definately line the roasting pan with paper next time!🤣🤣

I had four bean soup and toast in the end , DH had a RM curry and rice . I have had the towels on the line for 2 hours and it's blowing a gale fingers crossed .

Its easy peasy if you want the recioie @DirtyGertiefromno30 i did 2 racks of ribs and just as well I had 6!!!!
I have given up on my new glasses. Am going to call my optician to see if he can adjust them to fit. I cant. I have huge dips in my nose and it's damm sore I get them adjusted for a few days then they start again or start digging in my head or ears. Grrrr.

Yes please, send me the recipe @Thebookofcarolagain! And those glasses sound awful 😩 . Definitely get the optician to adjust them again ,huge sore dips in your nose and digging into your head and ears is painful. Hopefully he can sort them properly this time. Grrrr! 😂

Sunny but blowing a gale here!
The recopie is pretty basic @DirtyGertiefromno30 I just jotted down the bare bones😄
Rack of pork ribs (do 2 you will thank me).
2tbs salt or more for 2 racks
170g runny honey (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup blackberries
Oven 170°
Preheat oven
Salt ribs both sides.
Mash berries
Add honey
Glaze one side
Cook for 1 1/2 hours
Turn and glaze other side
Cook 30 - 45 mins.
I doubled it for 2 big racks but would use much less honey as it didn't stick to the curved side very well. Need to find a thicker runny honey.
I also took them out at 30 mins but could have been sooner. Just keep an eye on them
And definately line pan and sides with greaseproof paper its a hard sticky mess under the ribs 😄 Maybe just putting them in the pan not on a rack might help but dont know. Enjoy.
Off to dentist soon. At least its not raining.

Thank you for the recipe @Thebookofcarolagain basic is absolutely fine, it sounds delicious! I’ll definitely remember your tip about lining the pan because that sticky mess sounds like hard work toe 😂 . And I agree, two racks sounds like the way to go 😋.

Nice day here , got the washing out , Mum is fine thankfully 😊. Apparently the Respiridone has worked well . Fingers crossed 🤞.
Got sausages and burgers out of the freezer for tonight .

Back from dentist. All fine. Stopped at asda and got bread and a couple of bits.
Had to put canes back in one pot out front for my sunflowers the wind had pulled them all out!
Glad its working quickly @DirtyGertiefromno30 . Much better for her to be calmer.
There were traffic lights on way up to dentust, huge queue on opposite side. They were letting loads of cars through but the queue was half a mile long! Worst of all all the fields on the roadsides had been sprayed with slurry! The smell was er...fresh😁 Was dreading coming home having to sit there for about 15 minutes in that but thankfully they were gone by then.
We are having haggis for tea.
