You’re very organised getting your Christmas list started already @Thebookofcarolagain! Keeping it simple sounds like a great idea , basic food and no going OTT. The kids can have a couple of little things to open plus some money they’ll very happy with that! 🤗
Christmas stuff in the shops already is nuts when it’s not even Halloween! 🎃 I bought my Hallooween sweets last week in Tesco 😂, what are we like 😂.
And well done for resisting the Aldi stationery section! 👏
Glad you’ve got the meat sorted and freezer organised. Now put your feet up and enjoy that well earned sit down!
I am watching Alice and Ted, it's 3 part series from 2002 with Dawn French and Steven Tomlinson and l am loving it but l must shift my bum and see to the washing 🙄

Sitting down as ordered @DirtyGertiefromno30 😄 Had ham, cheese salad sarnie with yellow cherry toms I got half price today and a bag of cheesy wotsits😄 Also went mad and got a pkt of millionaire shortbread. So that's my pud. (Like I need pud but oops)
Got carrots today and didn't realise I had some in fridge so they've been blanched to go in freezer. Silly bugger.

I shifted my bum and changed the beds l put the winter duvets on, it was 10C last night 🥶 , put the hoover over and dusted upstairs phew l am a bath of sweat . Gf Chicken Korma for me from Aldi( RM) in the microwave as l write.

Just noticed the flowers on my tom plant are opening not shrivelling up! Got the paint brush out as I didn't think to put them out today in the sun. Typical they finally flower and I forgot. Out they go tomorrow if its nice 😄 Gave them another water in sink.

Get yourself some Pataks Korma spice paste. Its gf as uses maize flour. Make your own korma much better than ready made, trust me.😁 You can make it as spicey as you want.
In my jammies now dishes done, all tidy. Doing no more today.

I am glad l changed the duvets yesterday 🤗👏👍.
I must be getting nesh it's the earliest in the year l have changed them over 😁. Getting old and feeling the cold l expect 🤣. My sister is seeing Mum today so I am going to the market and the library and then meeting my friend for a cuppa . I definitely had a mad burst later on in the day @Thebookofcarolagain! 😂 Typical the tomato flowers finally open and you forget to put them out! 😂 Fingers crossed it’s nice tomorrow so they can enjoy the sun and hopefully you get some tomatoes. 🍅 Thank you for the heads up , I’ll look out for Patak’s Korma paste, especially as it’s GF. Homemade is so much better 😋. Hope everyone is ok and has a lovely day 🤗

Wind from yesterday pm is still here blowing everything about. Cant put my toms out as its not even warm enough outside. 😡
Washing is on, got 'mystery dishes' to do then bathroom. Oh joy. Having a coffee first. I need one after fighting my hair to plait it😄

Bathroom scrubbed within an inch if its life! I gate tgat bathroom. No room, constant mould appearing no matter that fan is on.😡 It's a never ending battle.

The crows and starlings have been cleaning out my gutters for me, bit of a mess out back to clean up!
I want to pull my foxgloves in raised area, put more compost in and plant my biggest foxgloves babies in there but wind is damm cold . Grrr I can see strips of beautiful blue sky in little gaps in the clouds so annoying.

Oh you’ve been on a proper cleaning mission @Thebookofcarolagain! 😂 That bathroom sounds like an absolute mare, especially when the mould just keeps coming back 😱.
Such a shame about the wind and cold too , typical when you’ve got gardening jobs. Hopefully those little bits of blue sky are a sign and it's improved, although the rain arriving at 2pm didn’t sound at all promising! 😡
The Crows and Starlings doing your gutters for you is brilliant though 😁. Had a lovely catch up with my friend after the market and library. Went to Aldis then for bits. Had some crackers and cheese and a gf chutney . Very nice . I can't have malt vinegar but l can have every other vinegar under the sun 😱. Got the washing in as it was dry thankfully and just decluttered a black bag full of my clothes yay! 😁

Sounds like a good day @DirtyGertiefromno30. It's freezing here now. Wind is howling. We had 10 mins of blue skies now it's dark and cloudy. Rain is sort off here, just odd drops and forecast is for all afternoon now not just an hour. 😡
Washing is hung up inside thankfully I didn't chance it.
Think i need a coffee to warm up.😄
I need to put more sealant round bath and sink i think.grr. It just springs up here and there for no apparent reason. Mould stuff just doesn't stop it.
I cant find plain white vinegar anywhere round here, used to sometimes get it in Aldi, not now and also Morrisons but have given up. I have ordered 2 big bottles of it online. I put it in wash machine, but I am not convinced its going all that much.
Bleugh rubbish day, I want a refund for this summer .

Hope the coffee has warmed you up a bit and that the rain gives you a break later. 🤞☕ You made the right decision not putting the washing out 🙄. We get our white vinegar from Tesco but l have noticed it's gone very scarce in Aldi. They only do a few of them in a large amount of vinegar bottles. Aldi do that with a few of their things 🙄 they are a pain.

Have got off my bum and hoovered all downstairs and the stairs.
Have decided ds1 and I are having beans and saus and a poached egg on toast for tea. If he doesn't like it he can lump it. (He loves beans and saus so really can't complain.) ( Easy peasy no stress tea.
Yep i havent seen just plain white vinegar any any decent sized bottles anywhere just those little ones (when they were actually there! )
Watching Claudia Romeo on her food channel. Love her, she does great programmes on speciality produce. Just watched Stitchleton cheese being made Fascinating i had never heard of it before. Made with raw milk to preserve that method from dissappearing in UK. Its similar to Stilton but a little milder and sweeter while still blue. Stilton can no longer be made with raw milk like it used to be sometimes as its now certified as pasteurised milk.

I’ve never heard of Stichelton either. I love how you pick up all these random food facts from You Tube 😁! Milder and sweeter than Stilton sounds right up my street, although DH loves his Stilton . 🧀😋

Just popping in to say I'm still here!
I will read everything later , but the last week has been a bit of a chaotic rush around type time .
We have just about finished at DD1's , with an unexpected spurt of needing to get her lovely bay tree ( in an enormous pot )and a miniature cherry tree to hers on Sunday .
My DH decided that now was the time to sell on our car ( he makes those calls , I help decide on what we have next) . It was 13 years old , diesel , and 100,00 miles on the clock . ( Still running like a dream , mind ) Fair enough says I , but he then put it up for sale privately straight away, and it sold immediately ( they came for it today ) without us having another lined up to buy🙄. We are getting something smaller , so the plants needed to go PDQ.
I have lined up 3 cars to look at tomorrow , but we now have to go on the bus !
Lots of baking and housework in the mix , and trying to get on with some sewing too , along with gardening , but my goodness , I'm tired ...

Wish supermarkets had taste testers still. I woukd try so many cheeses before I bought them. It would increase sales to.
Right I need to make tea! I poured a full glass of my new fave Aussie chardonnay and got stuck on sofa. I usually only pour an inch then dilute it...

I agree about the supermarket cheese tasters , I’d try loads more cheeses if I could taste them first 😋. There are so many that sound lovely but you don't want to buy a whole piece only to discover you hate it! 😂🧀

Yes it is so expensive for good artisan cheese be much better to taste first. If market stalls can do it do can supermarkets.
