Has anyone had a cosmetic procedure on their face that genuinely makes them look younger and hasn’t given them ‘frozen face’?

Yes I know I should not give a shit and be aging gracefully and all that, but I’ve become so self conscious about looking old and the amount of wrinkles I have on my face. I’m 42 and seem to have aged massively and really suddenly in the past year. When I smile there’s wrinkles all the way from the side of my mouth up to my eyes, all along my cheeks. It really upsets me, I know it’s just part of the reality of getting older, but I feel like I look like I’m in my late 40s, not early 40s. I do all the ‘right’ things - good skincare, always wear sun cream, eat well, don’t smoke, don’t drink too much. I’ve never had any kind of cosmetic procedure before and I hate the Botox/surgery look that some women have. So I’m wondering if anyone knows if there’s anything out there that actually smooths wrinkles (no matter the cost) and genuinely gives your face a more youthful appearance without looking like you’ve had a procedure? Or am I looking for some kind of unicorn??

BBL/halo or BBL/moxi

Basically you are describing avoiding botox and fillers but looking at a whole world of lasers, peels and microneedling.

Botox has never frozen my face. I've only ever seen that result on reality TV.

I've decided I am going to get one of those face melting peels when I'm 50. The one that at the start you look like you've survived a nuclear winter and at the end you look like yourself but 10 years younger. Luckily my birthday is in the winter, so I can easily avoid going out for the two weeks when you shed like a snake.

Do you think that’s cos they get too much? Has your Botox made a big difference to how old you look do you think?

Is that a chemical peel?

My practitioner tells me it's because they go to people who will do what the clients want instead of what should be done aesthetically and taking into consideration age and overall face structure etc.

She won't even take anyone on who wants a frozen look or anything unnatural looking because she says she won't contribute to unrealistic expectations, dysmorphia etc.

For example, if someone is really wrinkled all over their face, she won't apply Botox on the forehead because she says having a smooth forehead with a wrinkled face isn't doing anything aesthetically and looks unnatural. So, she's told me to expect that, at some stage, she won't be recommending Botox for me, anymore.

I am always told I look younger than I am (even by my specialist), and this was before and after Botox, so I can't honestly give you an answer on whether or not it's made a difference to others, as far as how I look.

But, for me, I used to have a Gordon Ramsey forehead and now I don't!

I have skin boosters but I’m considering getting a chemical peel. I’m talking to my aesthetician about it at my next appointment.

Ooh I was about to start a similar thread 😊 I’m looking at hifu and or microneedling to fix general sagginess and wrinkles around my eyes. I don’t know which is best though or if there’s something better. I haven’t had anything done to my face at all as I’ve really sensitive skin and rosecea so I’m scared of making my skin worse and I don’t want filler and I’m not sure about Botox. There’s a lot of treatments out there.

Botox doesn't freeze your face; it's only those people on TV who have far too much of it.

But they clearly get more and more and end up with a frozen face because what they’re getting isn’t making a significant difference?

I've seen people in RL who have had too much or at an age where nature is winning - it's not just on TV. @CupcakeDreams practitioner sounds very sensible.

Yes, there are different types from the limited research I have done. I want to full blown Skeletor!
