Sounds like a nice tea @Thebookofcarolagain, can’t go wrong with a ham salad roll and crisps. Freshly washed hair always makes you feel cleaner and fresher too.
Good luck for the job centre tomorrow, hope it’s quick and painless for you. And that Sangria sounds like a perfect little treat to look forward to later, well deserved too 🍷.
Well DH is very 😁 .Southampton have scored 2 goals and Wrexham nil 🤣
Am going to have a cup of chocolate after and maybe a Garabaldi or two 🤣

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 07/04/2026 21:20

I have a tall glass of sangria right in front of me @DirtyGertiefromno30 😄
Just faffing on my phone, bored really .

Enjoy those garibaldis😁 I have dark choc coated marzipan. Will have to ration myself or it will vanish!

Thebookofcarolagain · 08/04/2026 00:23

FGS chemist only gave me 7 tablets that's 3 days not 7!!!
I give up!

Thebookofcarolagain · 08/04/2026 11:06

Morning all. Been busy cleaning, tidying, emptying bins etc oh joy. Wash is on, sitting down for a coffee.. Have a damm headache from all the cleaning stuff 😡
Lovely day so far though, fingers crossed. Need to get out and sow my seeds. Need to plan where to put them first!
Hope you are all having a lovely day.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 08/04/2026 15:55

After everyone 😊
Had a quiet morning then lunch with my friend l haven't seen her for 3 months because she was ill, then my Mum was poorly, then her Mum was poorly. Anyway we had a can of pop, jkt potato and cheese and salad and ice cream for afters . It was a beautiful day here sunny and blue skies and warm for once . Absolutely gorgeous we were outside under the gazebo . Reasonable for the 2 of us TBF £25 with a tip which l thought was excellent TBF 😋Just popping into Aldi for fruit for Mum , she's having a bad day with my sister unfortunately we just have to do our best and meet each day as it comes . Then home for a cuppa ☕😊

Thebookofcarolagain · 08/04/2026 16:08

Sounds like a great catchup @DirtyGertiefromno30
Have sowed my seeds in both garden beds and 2 pots out front. Fingers crossed. I still have a few seeds left i can sow later. There's a load of seedlings up the top bed so hope they grow. Watered out back but it looked like rain was coming due to dark clouds so brought in the washing. Its all dried thankfully but clouds kept moving and its back to sunny again.

Piled up my small cut off branches and twigs up top of garden, you never know, something might appreciate them.
Thinking of getting a car covering, 2 seagulls have taken up residency on my car where it's parked just now, its got a load of you know what on it now. They are such a pia. Of course I might have to park elsewhere next tine but it would be good to get one.
Done housework this morning so am doing no more!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 08/04/2026 16:57

Sounds like a very productive day for you @Thebookofcarolagain 😁! Fingers crossed your seeds grow to lovely healthy plants 🤞. Good move with the washing ,lucky it dried too.
The twig pile might attract something interesting you never know 🤣. Those seagulls are a pain ,a car cover sounds like a good idea. That should get rid of them pronto! Thank you we had a lovely catch up together ❤️
Home now, washing put away did sausage sarnies for us all for tea they are in the fridge for whenever they want them , also the last of the rhubarb HCB yay! 😋

Am contemplating doing tea @DirtyGertiefromno30 there's gammon steaks for kids and last of pork for me. Will have a baked pot with it.

Went out to doorstep and crushed about a dozen egg shells into planter to try to protect my lupin. It's growing great guns so fingers crossed.
I am hoping there will be critters @DirtyGertiefromno30 theres bits about an inch to two inches thick plus ends of branches so fingers crossed. Once leaves fall from trees I will add a few. My bug hotel was not inhabited at all as far as I can see, maybe this year. But there's one or two big bumble bees in garden so that's a good sign. One of the packets of seeds were wildlife friendly flowers so fingers crossed.
I really cba to get up but better move 😄

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 08/04/2026 17:57

That all sounds really lovely @Thebookofcarolagain Gammon steaks and pork with a baked potato sounds like a proper treat, hope it is delicious 😋
Good thinking with the eggshells for your Lupin, fingers crossed it keeps the snails away. Sounds like your garden is shaping up nicely with all the branches and leaf mulch, critters will hopefully love it. Even if the bug hotel has not been used yet, it is great that you have bumblebees visit! 😁
Got petrol today 151.9 a litre 🙄😱
Just having sausage sarnies they are yummy 😋 🤤 😁

Afternoon !!!
well , I am just sat outside on my garden bench , it it lovely. Time seems to zoom by , with just cracking on. Once we had a firm idea of when DD1 moves , we are starting up logistics . She will get the keys late on a Friday afternoon ( seems normal , no idea why !) . On Saturday and if need be Sunday , we are going in the change the locks , clean , sort out bits prior to her moving the following Saturday . So yesterday and today I have washed 5 pairs of curtains . Fabulous weather at least ! In between we have sorted a liad of stuff to take with us .
iI have been trying to get the garden tidy too - veg patch is ready , and I am now going round the borders weeding . It is almost tidy in places . The tulips are lovely this year 😁
waves to everyone
take care all x

That sounds really productive @bookbook and so lovely being able to sit out and enjoy the weather while you plan it all. Having a thorough plan makes such a difference 🤗.
The Friday key thing does seem standard, even though it makes for a hectic weekend. You’ve got it well organised though, getting in to change locks and clean will make moving day much easier for her.
Five pairs of curtains is a big job, especially alongside sorting and gardening. Well done on getting the veg patch ready too. Weeding never ends but it’s satisfying when it starts looking tidy 😁
And how lovely your Tulips are doing they really brighten everything up so much. Hope you get a bit of time to just sit and enjoy it as well bless you 🌷

Didn't need a baked potato after all @DirtyGertiefromno30 I forgot i had tatties in the gravy with the pork. Am stuffed! Ds2 went down street to the shop and I waited a while then started thier tea....it was all done by the time he would usually take...he's still not back! 😡 It's in top oven on low setting. Arghhh

All hands on deck @bookbook . Hopefully no hiccups moving in, lot of work though.
Garden looks lovely way ahead of mine of course. Love your hosta, mine only have leaves just poking through now.
Ds2 met a mate and they were blethering, bloody typical.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 08/04/2026 19:43

Typical @Thebookofcarolagain🤣 ! You cook it all nice and ready and they vanish off chatting 😁
At least it’s stayed warm, so not a total disaster. Your pork and tatties sound delicious 😋 🤤

Thebookofcarolagain · 09/04/2026 11:31

Morning all.
Cloudy and a bit drizzley here.

Haven't done much so far, my innards are having one of thier annoying days so I feel bleh!
Need to get the hoover out and also sow my paper flower seeds in garden. Need to find my get up.and go first😄
Hope you are all having a good day.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 09/04/2026 14:10

Afternoon everyone 😊
Grey, damp and miserable here today hey ho 🙄. Been to see Mum who was ok there today bless her . DH is doing the lawns even though it's damp .
I am having a cuppa and some toast and Marmite 😋.
Grey and drizzly always kills motivation, doesn’t it @Thebookofcarolagain l am feeling that now tbh 🙄. Sorry your innards are playing up too , those days are just bleh yuk 🤪
Take it easy, the hoover and seeds can wait. Even one small job is enough. The paper flowers will be so worth it 🌸
Hope our get up and go turns up for us both if not, another cuppa and a sit down works for us too and perhaps a HCB 😋🤣

Thebookofcarolagain · 09/04/2026 18:44

Hmm maybe I should buy some garibaldis @DirtyGertiefromno30 they might give me some oomph 😁
Have done nowt except prep and make tea and tidy up the kitchen a few times. Spent the day on sofa dozing off occasionally and trawling nice relaxing you tube videos. Just bleh!

Made toad in the hole for tea, it came out really well (amazingly!) ) but I didn't even do mash to go with it 😱
Sun came out late afternoon but wind was still really cold.
Just need to do the dishes (2 plates, cutlery and a pan 😁) then am getting into my pj's.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 09/04/2026 19:56

Evening everyone 😊
Sounds like the perfect cosy day @Thebookofcarolagain😄 Garibaldis are definitely a morale booster! Toad in the hole sounds amazing, even without the mash 😁. Enjoy your pj’s and a well earned chill after the dishes 😁
Well it was that sort of day here too.
We got back from Seeing Mum then had a HCB , Marmite on toast and a nice cuppa and l fell asleep in the chair 🤣
Woke up half 5 ,too late to cook , too lazy more like 😁, so we had a Chinese takeaway 🤣. Very nice too 😁 😋
The Apprentice and Race across the world on now.

Thebookofcarolagain · 09/04/2026 20:50

Ha ha @DirtyGertiefromno30 perfect excuse for Chinese takeaway. 😁
Am in my pjs, just thinking what the heck am i gonna do for tomorrow's tea, am kinda thinking fish pie I have different fish and prawns in freezer that need using up. Hmmm.
Just chilling watching Emmy and Paul on FMS on you tube, very calming and relaxing.
Was thinking about my upcoming buryhday earlier. That week kids are going away with thier dad for thr weekend so.i presumed ds2 would be working on.my buryhday. Talked to both kids, he isnt! So vague plan is to go to a garden centre and they will buy me something i want then go for lunch at the pub. I am swithering about getting a couple of those raised beds in HB They are shorter than I would like but only £30 i think. One of the kids could get me one if they have similar at the GC.. or just one at HB if the prices are astronomical at GC . Decisions decisions, imagine me being let loose at a GC muhaha! 🤣🤣🤣 (Much better than something I don't want or need.)

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 09/04/2026 22:14

Fish pie sounds like a brilliant plan for tomorrow @Thebookofcarolagain, especially if you are using up bits from the freezer. Proper comforting food too.
Your birthday plan sounds lovely. Garden centre plus pub lunch is a winning combo. And I love the idea of the kids choosing something for you. Those raised beds sound like a great idea as well, even if you start with one and see how you get on. £30 is not bad at all if they do the job.
Honestly you being let loose in a garden centre sounds dangerous in the very best way possible 🤣
My 65th on the 28th of April. When is your birthday? . I have no idea what l want but l will definitely have a takeaway 😊👏

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 09/04/2026 22:52

Mine is 22nd, I will be 21 plus tax and insurance! Oh ok I will be 64, I cant really believe it, theres obviously been a mistake.
Kids wont be choosing anything they have no idea. Ds1 is always pointing out the wrong plants wherever we go and ds2 drags me away! 🤣🤣

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 10/04/2026 08:34

Good morning everyone 😊
64 definitely sounds like a mistake @Thebookofcarolagain😂
You are a Taurean by the skin of your teeth 😂
I think you need to send it back and ask for a recount 😂
Your kids have their own system when it comes to plants by the seem of it 😁. Ds1 is doing quality control and Ds2 is doing emergency extraction duties 🤣
We are off shopping early .l don't need anything but that has never stopped us before 😂
Have a good day everyone 🤗

Morning!
just popped in to say you youngsters ! 😃
Have been out and about and gardening the last couple of days , and today we are taking DGS out to an exhibition about Japan in the time of the Samuri etc ( he loves stuff about it) , and lunch out , so have to shift soon and have a shower . Frighteningly we need to buy fuel too 😫
BookofCarol - take a look at pallett collars for raised beds - they vary in size and price , and work well

Waves to everyone
Take care all x

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 10/04/2026 09:37

Sounds like you’ve had a really busy couple of days in the garden @bookbook 😁.
Today is shaping up to be a good one too, with the Japan exhibition and lunch out for DGS, he’ll love that l am sure 😊. Hope you manage to get yourself ready without too much rushing about and the fuel stop isn’t too painful on your purse😱
Good shout on the pallet collars too, I’ve seen those and they do look really useful for raised beds, especially with all the different sizes and prices around, definitely worth a look @Thebookofcarolagain.
On our way to the shops 😁

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 10/04/2026 11:41

Thanks both i will check them out.
Busy busy @bookbook but the visit to the exhibition sounds like a fun afternoon. Wish I could get going in my garden but its still a work in progress.
Yep i really should enquire about that mistake @DirtyGertiefromno30 I am definately a Taurean, stubborn as a bull😄

Ds2 would like that description of himself with me and plants, ds1 tries to be helpful but points out plants that are no use for my garden or at the moment bless him.

Have been fighting with bathroom sink! I have this drain snake contraption...so I managed to twirl it into drain and wiggled it about, pushed it as far as I could etc. Then it wouldn't 'unscrew' out the drain hole again. There isn't much room in the drain holes but it should have just unscrewed its way out. Was turning it and pulling like crazy. Was freaking out it was stuck forever and I would need to get HA out. But I pulled and pulled and it finally came out. Arghhh why is evetything so awkward.?
Off to chemist soon fingers crossed they have my meds.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 10/04/2026 12:53

On the way home from shopping, didn't buy a lot tbh . I bought a Wax Lyrical English tea diffuser for £4 from Boots instead of £12.99 . Nothing in TKMaxx or M&S their Easter eggs were still half price so they can keep them 😂
Home now for a nice cuppa and some toast and Marmite. It's a Hot Cross Bun and Garabaldi free zone now, they have all gone 😁
