That must have been funny at school! It’s always such a mix at that age isn’t it some still looking like little boys and others suddenly looking like grown men overnight. I’m sure DS will have his moment and shoot up when he’s ready , they do seem to do it all at once!

All settled for the night. Tea was good, , I winged it. Had 3 chicken breasts and had a pkt of honey/herb dry seasoning rub for veg so used that on chicken, rubbed it in, left it a bit then browned then added veg and cooked in stock in oven. Was rather tasty. I did pots for me in it and kids wanted waffles. Ds2 was cheeky and said is this what you are gonna do for every meal now 😉. Didn't stop him eating it 🤣🤣
Has it warmed up yet @DirtyGertiefromno30 I gave up and put heating on for an hour.

Your tea sounds lovely though 😋. That seasoning on the chicken with the veg and stock sounds really tasty. Funny how the kids question it but still happily eat it all 🤣. DS2 clearly approved even if he was being cheeky 🤣
Still chilly here too, so I don’t blame you for putting the heating on for a bit 🥶

Just finished putting the washing away, l can't wait to be able to dry the clothes on the line, day in day out 😊.

Sunny here but had rain too. Wind is howling around as usual, enough to knock you sideways. I was emptying the bins and couldn't keep the lid up and was sent sideways!

Not a bad day here 12C dry and windy but not sunny unfortunately, so first lot of washing on the line before we came out . I have another wash pending 🤣.
Blimey, that wind sounds wild with you @Thebookofcarolagain 🌬️ I can just picture you wrestling with the bin lid and getting blown sideways 🤣.
Probably wise not to hang the washing out unless you fancy chasing it down the street🤣
Hope the Job Centre visit isn’t too painful today 🤞🙄. At least you’ve already got the washing going, so that’s one thing ticked off. Fingers crossed the wind dies down a bit later so you can hang it out.

Called into Farm foods and Asda for towels and Home Bargains for bits and bobs always a mistake not to have the list with me because l go off on one there 🙄

I look like a convict on my last passport photo which was a DIY one. Drivers licence wasn't too bad as PO man kindly did it for me. They've been sold off by the PO and run independently as a franchise now - all the old staff left so it's been such a change. Sent a letter from there yesterday and it just wasn't the same.

Honestly @FridayNighFeelingpassport photos are the worst , they always manage to make perfectly normal people look like they’ve just been arrested 🤣. Mine never look like me either. At least the post office man helped with your driving licence one , that was kind of him. It’s such a shame when places change like that though. When all the old staff go it just loses that personal touch unfortunately. There's been a fatality on the railway line by us so the train station is closed for at least 24 hrs ,poor person they must have been in a terrible state to do something as horrific as that 😭. We will have to pick up Dd2 from Cardiff at 4 , better shift ourselves.

Back from job centre and shopping. Ds2 came with. Didn't need much but still cost enough! Met a friend i haven't seen in ages in Aldi and had a blether (poor ds had to just wander around waiting) She has had a health conditions discovered which isn't great but no treatment as yet. Fingers crossed it doesn't get worse.
Sunny but the wind was rocking the car and had to.hold onto the doors @FridayNighFeeling Its to get worse pm and overnight apparently. My new bathroom fan is gonna be battered off at this rate. If wind drops tomorrow I might try my old saw and attack the stupid tree and pull branches down. It's not even flat ground around it so I need someone to hold ladders, plus thers a 4 feet drop on one side!
Ds2 went to Morrisons to get something and came out with 2 ham hocks that were reduced. That's my boy🤣

Had a look in HBs garden area when we were in. No lobelia so I ended up buying some white Saxifrage to fill out a container and will try a couple in the gravel. They had red and orange papavers but it was a box of 6, they get too big for 6 in my garden, would have bought 1 and it prob would have self seeded so I could move the new one. Arghh.

Blimey @Thebookofcarolagain you’ve had a full day of it. And yes, it really is awful when something like that happens on the railway. People rarely think about the poor driver and all the others who have to deal with it afterwards. It must stay with them for a long time if not always 😭.
Sounds like a proper outing for you though, job centre, shopping and a catch up all in one go. Typical that you only pop in for a few bits and it still costs a fortune 🙄. Your garden plans sound lovely, white Saxifrage will look really pretty spilling out of a container, and it should do well in the gravel as well. Shame about the Lobelia and the Papavers being in a six pack , typical when you only want one of each !
Picked up Dd2 she is really tired out bless her she's been up since 10 to 6 . I told her to take the car this morning but she wanted to chill out on the train . Oh well there we are 😁

No risks will be taken with the tree, if its still windy I wont be near it. If HA have to replace the fan then tough, they were supposed to fix the tree and didn't.

That’s annoying about the Lobelia. You’d think with all those rows of plants they could manage a bit of variety instead of the same few things over and over. Hopefully as the season gets going they’ll start bringing more in and you might spot some yet. It’s always the one thing you actually want that they never seem to have though.
And you’re absolutely right about the tree , not worth the risk of life and limb at all if it’s still windy. If the HA end up having to replace the fan then that’s on them. They had their chance to sort the tree out and didn’t bother useless articles 🙄
PJs on, YouTube on that sounds like the perfect way to wind down. It’s so easy to fall down those YouTube rabbit holes though, you go on for one thing and suddenly an hour’s gone 🤣.
Jamie’s new podcast though 👏. It’s annoying when they stick them behind apps or subscriptions. Sometimes bits end up on YouTube later though, so you might still get to see some of it without needing a podcast app 🙏👏.

Yep it's annoying they don't have the plants @DirtyGertiefromno30 but hopefully more to chose from soon....mind you have a gazillion seeds sprouting and more to sow so wont need much 🤣 Am gonna get herbs to put in a pot out back and hopefully they will grow. Aldi had seeds but you don't plants them outside until May/June so left them, I have enough In doors for now!

It’s probably wise leaving the Aldi seeds for now too, no point rushing when the weather can still turn on us as it did today with you 😱 . Herbs in pots out the back will be lovely though, and so handy when you’re cooking. Hopefully the shops will start getting a bit more variety in soon . The Home Bargains plants are very competitively priced especially compared to garden centres.
I mean they had well grown Rose bushes there today for £4.99 . Hydrangea plants for £6.99 and tbh they looked healthy and in good condition.

Was up but not dressed this morning when ds2 came down asking for a lift to work. He had slept in. He rarely does an early shift and despite his alarms he slept in. Cue mad rush to get dressed 🤣
Have ham hocks sitting in water to see if i can remove a bit of the salt out before cooking.
I find HB good at start of gardening season but nearer the end their plants get really dried out and neglected. Which is sometimes a bonus cos they are cheap (but not as cheap as they should be often.😉) B&M are the same. I have seen huge tropical plants withering away due to lack of care and they aren't cheap plants! But if there's bargains to be had I am there😁
Had a shower and plaited my hair to try to look vaguely human for my drivers license later.😁

I know what you mean about HB and B&M. Plants start off great then get neglected by the staff, sometimes that’s when the bargains appear if you’re willing to rescue them 😁

Dh's cousin has been taking in for her appendix, she's 60 the end of the month. She had to wait 17 hrs to get seen in A&E 😱

Ham is cooking, have just done usual all day, washing etc etc. Very boring day.
Still blooming cold, I had heating on for an hour it was baltic.

Sounds like one of those ordinary plod along days with you too. Washing, bits and bobs, nothing exciting. At least your ham will be worth it in the end though. Always smells lovely when it’s cooking😋.
