Hello - first time pregnancy!

Hello everyone.

I'm 7 weeks pregnant - my first one (due in the middle of March). I'm still in a bit of denial, since aside from some mild symptoms, I don't feel pregnant! (Missing my period is the biggest clue!) I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife on Tuesday - I guess that's when it will all become real!

I'm torn between thinking ahead about all the things that we will need, and wanting to wait, as it's very early days. (My brother and sister-in-law have a nearly five-year old, so I'm selfishly hoping that they still have lots of stuff to pass on!)

Anyway, I thought I'd join here to talk to likeminded folk. (Plus, I can't talk to anyone about the pregnancy yet! My boss knows because I'm suffering from lightheadness and have been off work for a wee bit. I'm looking forward to telling my mum.)

Hi:)! Just found out on Wednesday that I am expecting, 6 weeks today and still a bit in shock/denial as its a year earlier than we were expecting to get pregnant, this will be our first. Already used two tests with a BFP and still want to take more cause it just doesn't seem real!

Only people who know are my boss currently and a close friend. Debating when on earth to tell my mum as she used to be a midwife, not sure if she would be ridiculously excited or overbearing right now...

Hi @rachzilla :) Yes, it takes a while to sink in.

There's a nice thread about first time pregnancies ( www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2987259-first-time-pregnancy-4 ) that you might want a take a look at. It's where we all compare notes and realise that we're not going nuts!
