I'm mostly quite happy in my autistic headspace, but every now and again, when I'm having a bad day, I wonder what it's like to be 'normal' and not have a head which feels like a sack of cats.
Take yoga: apparently, yoga is brilliant, but it just makes me angry and then to want to go to sleep, which I can do at home for free, so I resent having to pay for it, which then makes me more angry, and annoyed at not being very bendy.
It must be lovely to just be able to switch off your brain, or, at the very least, just live with it.
Neurodiverse Mumsnetters
I wonder what being NT feels like?

Apologies. Maybe op should have added that she wasn’t interested in anyone’s views or then offering support and was more looking for every poster to just say yes me too must be great to be NT and have no thoughts/no distractions and be great at yoga. Then people would have known.
Kanaloa · 09/06/2022 11:32
I don’t think I’m inept at all. You’re being super aggressive for absolutely no reason. I am I interested in the topic given that obviously I have to research and deal with NT subjects a lot while raising my kids. From op’s post I wanted to offer some support that there is no need to fit in by forcing yourself into activities because you see them as ‘normal’ and in fact many NT people wouldn’t or don’t like those activities. If op had mentioned that she only wanted ND people to reply and didn’t want any advice or views I wouldn’t have posted. She didn’t, so I responded to the question she asked.
Dalekjastninerels · 09/06/2022 11:37
But how would another ND person know what it is like and answer the question?
Mabelface · 09/06/2022 11:35
Fucksake. If it's on the neurodiverse board, then the expectation is that responses will be from fellow neurodiverse people!
Look, you don't like our responses, so leave us to it. Stop grinding that axe.
Kanaloa · 09/06/2022 11:39
Not at all. I’ve said I have an interest from supporting my son so I frequently browse this board. But you’re misunderstanding or twisting much of what I’ve said. I mean your earlier post
Aw, we feel the same way about doing yoga, but we're superior because we have our minds under control and are willing to make the effort and try a bit harder
Literally not one person has said anything remotely like this. You’ve just conjured it up out of absolutely nowhere.

We're not interested tbh. It was a rhetorical question 🙄

They why not put
This is a rhetorical question
I don't think anyone is telepathic

Well I didn’t read that subtext. Nobody has said anything like ‘oh well if you just tried harder you’d be good at yoga.’ All the replies have said don’t force yourself to do something if it’s not working, it doesn’t work for everyone etc.
And I’m not being faux naive or saying you’re stupid, I just disagree with you and think you’re misunderstanding me.
