i have to say george michael was amazing and so has pink, josh groban and o.m.d i've seen some amazing acts but christina aguilara was completely pathetic. she was over an hour late didnt dance, couldnt walk the stage without help from her dancers and was completely half assed

Yes, I did! That's funny, it was that description you gave that just brought it all back! I can even remember what I was wearing - v sad

Tillyscoutsmum · 18/08/2010 16:08

Best : Deacon Blue (NYE at Glasgow and their last ever one in B'ham). Robbie Williams at Glasto was fantastic. REM were brilliant. Madness at Finsbury Park

Worst: Whitney (if I'd have wanted to be preached to, I'd have gone to church), Stone Roses and.... David Gray Blush

How about a mediocre gig.
In that case I nominate the Fun lovin Criminals as my most recent mediocre gig. They were OK, not rubbish, not great, just Ok!!

Not sure if I'm was pleased I've seen them. I suppose the alternative was to stop in and watch re runs of Law and Order that night so the gig got me out of the house!!!!

LyraSilvertongue · 24/09/2010 23:09

Muse at Wembey Stadium confirmed their 'best live - ever' status in my eyes.
Saw I Am Arrows last week and they were good but a short set.

upahill · 25/09/2010 16:51

Lyra
re Muse

I wouldn't have expectd you to say anything else!!! Grin Glad you enjoyed it!

Seeing Paul McCartney live was a dream come true for me. I've been a fan of his almost since the cradle, so to finally see the man live was akin to Nirvana, lol.

Metallica always put on a great show; up to a three hour gig.

mrsfudgely · 02/10/2010 10:20

Best U2 in 1987 on Joshua Tree Tour and small Wedding Present gigs in various places.
Worst Snow Patrol Wembley 2006 - waste of money and time after four hours journey in terrible snow and ice. Perhaps I was pissed off before I got there and that affected my judgement.

BessieBoots · 02/10/2010 10:22

Best- James Taylor and Morrissey (not on the same bill, obviously) :o
I've never seen anyone I didn't enjoy.

ShowOfHands · 02/10/2010 10:30

I saw Harper Simon recently. He was rubbish. Definitely on something. Kept forgetting his lyrics. No charisma at all. V disappointing.

Katerpillar · 11/10/2010 05:12

Best- The Libertines, Blur, Blondie, Arctic Monkeys, Morrissey, the Long Blondes, Jarvis Cocker, Gorillaz, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lupen Crook... Could name more!!

Worst- Angus & Julio Stone, Animal Collective (pretentious...) Red Hot Chili Peppers (booooring), Razorlight (saw against my will!)

YunoYurbubson · 11/10/2010 05:31

Best - Bob Dylan. The man is a legend and to see him perform live is something I will one day tell my Grandchildren about. I feel lucky I got to see him live 3 times.

Worst - Bob Dylan. The man is a miserable misanthropist who resents performing live and is petulant about his annoying fans wanting to hear the old classics and not taking his musical journey seriously. He rarely talks to the audience. I once spent most of a gig trying to work out which one of the many people on stage was him.

Still love him though Grin

PaulineCampbellJones · 11/10/2010 07:09

exepat One of my best was the Blue Aeroplanes too! 1991 in Liverpool, I was in my first week at Uni and FREE!
U2 at 360 in Dublin last year was very special. I had my DD in my belly kicking away and Red Zone tickets.
Morrissey every time but the best in Sunderland. I couldn't believe after all this time he was in my home city.

Worst by far was Oasis in 1994.Newcastle Riverside. Noel started mouthing off at the crowd, someone decked him so they went off stage after about two songs.
And the shame of seeing M people at a work event will stay with me forever. Utter shite.

PavlovtheCat · 11/10/2010 07:11

Best - Bruce Springsteen. Say no more. Legend. But Foo Fighters were also Awesome at Glastonbury one year.

Worst - The Pogues with shane McGowen on St Patricks Day/Night many years ago. He was a walking corpse. Could not sing. Had lots if guinness chucked at him. Although Sinead O'connor was a bit Shit too.

PavlovtheCat · 11/10/2010 07:14

oh and also bad was James Morrison, saw him by default at another music gig, afternoon, and he was soooooo boring, everyone used his slot to get their burgers before the next band!

pencilpotmonitor · 11/10/2010 07:27

Worst - Meatloaf. Waste of money. Grrrr.

Ishtar2410 · 11/10/2010 07:50

Best: Radiohead
Worst: The Darkness Hmm
