i have to say george michael was amazing and so has pink, josh groban and o.m.d i've seen some amazing acts but christina aguilara was completely pathetic. she was over an hour late didnt dance, couldnt walk the stage without help from her dancers and was completely half assed

Rammstein at men is my best gig....they were amazing, they put so much effort into concerts

GothAnneGeddes · 15/06/2010 01:37

I saw Rammstein at Mcr Apollo 8 years ago. Utterly amazing but full of young (and I mean not even teenage) children.

IMoveTheStars · 15/06/2010 02:09

Best: (in order)
Eels, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Mandalay, Lamb, The Fall, Muse, Skunk Anansie, Suede, Garbage, Lemonheads, Regurgitator,

Sadly never saw Portishead [kicks self]

Worst:
Manic Street Preachers, Sting, James Brown

IMoveTheStars · 15/06/2010 02:10

Snorbs - when was that Tori gig? about 5 years ago and I was there. I love her double piano bashing

IMoveTheStars · 15/06/2010 02:13

and gogol bordehlo are amaZING

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 18/06/2010 23:31

Love foos and u2 they were both amezing. went to see Tina Turner with my DM last year and she was also remarkably good. Saw The Police couple of years ago, they were great but we were miles away up in the top of the stand at Twickenham, so felt a bit disconnected from performance.

GeraldineAubergine · 20/06/2010 22:17

Basement jaxx in Brighton and at the roundhouse, daft punk in Hyde park, frank black in Brixton and Florence and the machine upstairs in a Camden pub, were all brilliant. Worst by far was steeleye span.

BikeRunSki · 20/06/2010 22:21

Best -
Manic Street Preachers in a working men's club before they hit the big time.
REM - Saw 'em three times on one tour,

Worst -
Toss up between The Bluetones and Ian Brown.

Snorbs · 22/06/2010 12:11

Jareth, ooh, now you're asking. 1995 or 96, I think. Back then it was pretty much just her and a single grand piano although she still managed to completely captivate the audience.

lionstigersandbearsohmy · 25/06/2010 09:15

Best - Bon Jovi hands down, just seen them again at the O2...nobody does it better

MintCracknel · 27/06/2010 09:40

Oh ABC were brill as well!

ilove · 01/07/2010 22:11

Whats-her-face was crap...thingy Osbourne. Kelly?

upahill · 16/07/2010 13:12

In recent months some of the best were Lynard Skynard and Gossip and Emily Autumn.

The worst was HIM which was really surprising because I was so looking forward to it.

The worst of all time was Echo and the Bunnymen. Another huge disapointment.

A surprisingly (to me anyway) really good gig was Marc Almond. I went along because I could rather than a fan and was blown away.

sharbie · 16/07/2010 13:14

Agree with you about the Bunnymen upahill

frasersmummy · 16/07/2010 13:25

Best was Tina Turner..more years ago than I care to recall

Worst was chris de Burgh.. never stood up from his piano or spoke to the audience all night

cat64 .. gary glitter was only great on xmas eve, everyone was so hyper and when the lights came up at the end it was an hour to xmas.. but you're right outwith xmas eve he was majorly disappointing

PfftTheMagicDragon · 16/07/2010 13:28

Best: Cornelius, Pulp were good (saw them when they did a tour with the Stars in Their Eyes Jarvis), The Make Up were excellent but I would never listen to a CD.

upahill I have also seen The Bunnymen and I thought they were crapola.

Yo La Tengo were pretty dull.

upahill · 16/07/2010 13:32

I forgot to mention Metallica.

I knew it was a sold out show but two nights before the gig DH rings me up at work to see if I wanted to go. A friend of one his customers had 2 tickets. He as sellling them way over the odds but DH said don't worry about the price.

I've long had a downer on the MEN. I was expecting to have shit seats, the tickets to be a forgery and anything else that could go wrong.

What a night.

The stage was central. We were on roe 13 so slightly higher than their eye level. The moved round stage so everyone could see them.

Even Lars on drums rotatated.

They stayed on stage long after the house lights went up bouncing huge ballons and balls into the audience. Probably one of the best gigs ever made beter because although I knew Metalllica would be good I was expecting not to be able to see them!!

CoinOperatedGirl · 16/07/2010 13:32

Best: Pixies at the forum, Frank Black & the catholics at shepherds bush, SOAD at the astoria, Marilyn Manson at leeds festival. Placebo at leeds uni. Oddly went to see Magnum at the astoria for a laugh and it was a brill funny night.

Worst, most prog gigs Dp dragged me to (rush and jethro tull yawn), Nin weren't so much crap, but the atmosphere was terrible and the crowd boring. Seen many shite bands at festivals, papa roach were dire. Erm mercury rev were pretty dull, as were iron maiden.

Ooh just remembered the polyphonic spree, they are fantastic live.
