Have fun .

halfcut · 17/10/2009 22:06

My ds is going

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 18/10/2009 12:47

Oh dear, halfcut, that's the thing, slightly worried I will be the oldest person there.

Oh, well - the oldest person in the audience, the band have a few years on me

I'm going to see them in January here in Singapore! I was so jealous when I heard they were doing a UK tour, and then last week read in our local paper they are playing here - I think my neighbours probably wondered what the screaming was all about! I'm so excited about seeing them (especially Billie Joe who I looove!!)

Thequeensghoul · 18/10/2009 15:39

Nah I'm sure Greenday have loads of older fans, they've been around a good while.

I'm of the Dookie and Insomniac era myself!

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 19/10/2009 11:24

See, when Dookie was released I was a teenage metal fan who would never have bothered picking up a 'punk' CD - oh, and thought I would never be old and shit. Sigh. So this is my penance for teenage arrogance really, seeing Green Day for the first time at the age of 33... Probably it will be poor lighting and no-one will see the wrinkles though.

Singapore in January! Can't believe how long tours go on for really, can you imagine singing/playing your heart out for an audience every night for, like, a year? MCR (who I love dearly) nearly killed themselves touring the black parade for so long.

going to see them this friday at the o2..

can't wait..

harleyd · 19/10/2009 11:28

yes!
belfast odyssey tomorrow nite

NormaStanleyFletcher · 19/10/2009 11:34

I went to see them when they last toured at the MK Bowl. I had 4 teens in tow. I was not the oldest by any means. The audience ranged from 4 weeks old to in their 50s so I wouldn't worry on that score

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/10/2009 09:47

I'm also at the Odyssey tonight - standing - going down early after hearing the parking horror stories...

harleyd · 20/10/2009 09:50

TONITE YAY

bodycolder · 20/10/2009 10:50

My friend worked on 2 of their videos and i met them.the singer is v cute like a little boy dressed up at halloween not my sort of music but they were v sweet. One of them gave me a wrist band which has prob got lost in all my house moves.Enjoy!

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 20/10/2009 15:23

Just visiting, harleyd

When I noticed I'd be over on the right day, picked up a stray ticket on eBay...

Another at Billie-Joe being like a little boy dressed up at Halloween!

I'm almost 100% certain Greenday scheduled their Manchester gigs for when I was out of the city so Billy-Joe would be safe from me

harleyd · 20/10/2009 16:18

parking can be a bit mad at the odyssey..im taking the easy option of train and beer

you were lucky to get a ticket then....i had seated ticket, but managed to pick up a really cheap standing ticket on ebay last week

harleyd · 21/10/2009 08:01

omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is anyone selling a spare ticket for dublin tonite??????????

harleyd · 21/10/2009 09:13

heathen....wake up!!
how good was last nite!!!

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 21/10/2009 10:58

Totally awesome! I got to about 7 rows back straight off, then forward to about row 4 through canny shuffling, and girls fainting at the front...was right in front of Mike.

Think I loved 'King For a Day' and 'Minority' best of all.

Only felt my age twice; when the support band started I was thinking, god my back's sore already from standing ...and when BJ lit up a cigarette onstage I thought, tch, what sort of example is that to set to these kids!? (am ex-smoker myself)

I am going to get to go again , already had tickets for the brum gig (where I live) before I got the Belfast one. But seated this time, as appropriate to my elderly status...

i didnt see the support act...we were in the bar
we only just got there in time, i was surprised they came on so early
king for a day was amazin, minority totally rocked!
time of your life good riddence was superb!
i got rite to the front, got totally soaked by the little kid with the super-soaker billie joe touched my hand!
did you see the two old guys who were moshing like crazy and knocking all the little girls over
i have such a headache today! im so glad i got a standing ticket

Thequeensghoul · 21/10/2009 16:44

again. Sounds fab.

Another fellow (misplaced) Brummie here The Heathen. I had a ticket to see Greenday when they were going to play Aston Villa leisure centre a good few years ago, but it was cancelled .

overmydeadbody · 21/10/2009 20:21

I really don't get Green Day.

bellavita · 21/10/2009 21:30

Just popped in (see I didn't even know there was a music topic till harley mentioned it on another thread)

Couldn't get 4 tickets to the UK tour, but we saw them in August in Vegas and they were fantastic.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 22/10/2009 08:38

Harleyd! You touched Billie-joe

I didn't actually notice the runway bit on the way in , is why i was off to the side of it. Got jumped on by moshing teens instead of old blokes...

Iklboo · 22/10/2009 10:04
