Stereolab are very good too.

CoteDAzur · 14/07/2008 17:36

How about Nolwenn Leroy's Histoire Naturelle and Mon Ange?

There is also Emilie Simon's Fleur de Saison. She is the girl who sings in the film "March of the Emperor".

I also like Tina Arena, especially her Je m'appelle Bagdad.

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/07/2008 18:06

yes, big Stereolab fans here - thanks cote - will check those out

Raphaël's Caravane

belgo · 14/07/2008 18:33

And I like Alizee.

Azelle Red is a great Belgian singer who sings mostly in french. She's been around for years and has got loads of stuff on youtube.

belgo · 14/07/2008 18:36

I mean Axelle Red Je me fâche

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/07/2008 18:37

Jean-Jacques Goldman

UnquietDad · 14/07/2008 19:05

and

Zazie

belgo · 14/07/2008 19:11

another hit from Alizee here.

I could link you to all the Axelle Red songs as she's my favourite french singer but I will stick to Rester Femme - worth watching till the end and
je pense à toi

I'm enjoying listening to the music on this thread.

Marina · 14/07/2008 19:20

This lot take me right back

Marina · 14/07/2008 19:22

Et puis Les heures ou je m'eclipse

Marina · 14/07/2008 19:26

Ella, elle l'a

belgo · 14/07/2008 19:28

I hadn't realised Kate Ryan's Ella Elle L'a was a cover.

Kate Ryan's Desenchantee.

DaDaDa · 14/07/2008 21:22

France Gall peut etre?

DaDaDa · 14/07/2008 21:27

I see Marina beat me to it (but the early stuff is better)

Etienne Daho... and there my knowledge of French Pop shudders to a grinding halt.

UnquietDad · 14/07/2008 22:43

Ah, belgo, I see you have linked to Alizee's tribute to the Smiths guitarist.

belgo · 15/07/2008 08:31

I am going to try and listen to all the links on here today.

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/07/2008 09:03

rofl UQD . Never thought of it like that!

Not really pop, and you probably already have it:

Je ne t'aime plus

belgo · 15/07/2008 09:26

I like Manu Chao. I thought he was Spanish?

aDad · 15/07/2008 09:31

half french, half spanish - sings in both and English a bit.

Used to be in the French band Mano Negra
