Listening to 'Little Wing' by Jimi Hendrix this afternoon, it occurred to me that a circus-minded girl who only ever thinks about butterflies and zebras
and moonbeams and fairy tales would Not Go Down Well At The School Gate.

Then again, DH thinks he may once have dated her.

Any more?

Every step i take, every move i make - he'll be watching me.....

snigger · 14/06/2011 21:30

And David Bowie - were one to truly stumble into town like a sacred cow, with visions of swastikas everywhere, I feel a China Girl muttering shut your mouth would be the least of your issues.

Then again, he's giving her telly.

Lola at the Copacabana - fecking NUTS (though I think that was the point)

CaveMum · 14/06/2011 21:31

Delilah - she sounds like a right tart.

sassyTHEFIRST · 14/06/2011 21:33

As for the bloke singing Mustang Sally - gee, he knows how to show a girl a good time.

EnnuiGo · 14/06/2011 21:33

Awwww just sad and old and living in the past surely KinfofHighVis? Sad

.... she lost heeerrrrr love.....

MrsKwazii · 14/06/2011 21:33

The man with kaleidoscope eyes from Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds - I wouldn't know where to look Grin

CaveMum · 14/06/2011 21:35

Oh yes, and the women in Bruno Mars' "Grenade" sounds like a delightful girlfriend:

"If my body was on fire, ooh you'd watch me burn down in flames"

And am I the only one still wondering if Annie is ok? Annie are you ok?! Are you ok Annie?!

downbutnotout · 14/06/2011 21:35

And the narrator of "Wonderful World" sounds far too proud of being a right ignoramus to me. Don't know much about history, don't know much biology....what do you bloody know?

EnnuiGo · 14/06/2011 21:39

Sometimes though, just sometimes i'm sure all that glitters is gold and i feel like purchasing something outrageous and impressive.....

Soz Ennui I honestly can't think of any more contemporary characters.

Hang on how about Maria from the Wu Tang Clan song. I won't go into details on this family forum.

KingofHighVis · 14/06/2011 21:42

Cavemum I've often wondered what became of Annie.

EnnuiGo · 14/06/2011 21:43

King Grin

Ennui can't thinkof that song without picturing the Waynes World guitar shop scene

MollysChamber · 14/06/2011 21:44

That Cecelia is up there with Maggie May and Jolene Slappers

Curiousmama · 14/06/2011 21:45

Sting in Every breath you take, every move you make I'll be watching you Confused STALKER!!!

Hassled · 14/06/2011 21:45

Jolene. Her and her ivory skin and auburn hair and eyes of emerald green. Her voice is soft like summer rain, FFS. I'd have to kill her.

Trills · 14/06/2011 21:45

Sting is a creepy stalker in Every Breath You Take, but that's him, not the person who he's describing (she might be fine, in which case she's well rid of him).

The girl with Diamond On The Soles Of Her Shoes - she must be a little bit bonkers.

And the girl in Common People, she's slumming it in a similarly patronising sort of way.

Trills · 14/06/2011 21:46

Haha Curious - same thought! :o

Hassled · 14/06/2011 21:47

I'd like to meet Lola though. She walks like a woman and talks like a man - sounds interesting.

MollysChamber · 14/06/2011 21:47

OT Trivia - Dolly wrote Jolene about a woman who tried to lure her husband away shortly after they were married. Dolly was victorious. Go Dolly!

iamabadger · 14/06/2011 21:48

Cavemum-I think Bruno sounds like a right stalker in that song, no wonder the girl doesn't like him, he just won't take the hint.

EggyAllenPoe · 14/06/2011 21:48

kingofhighvis

tea and oranges are very low fat, and great for skin & weight loss. I lost (in the end) four inches from my waist and an inch from my hips on the 'Leonard Cohen' diet....
and actually proper cheap. if you aren't fussy about them coming from China.

although, LC is probably a bit of a perv.
