We'd like to hear your thoughts on school terms and making purchases for school.

My daughter is in Y6 of her current school so of course I will be spending more than usual on her new uniform in August becasue she will be starting a new school. The questions also assume you have a choice of where to buy items. My daughter went to a state primary but the cardigan was logoed as was the T shirt for PE necessitating purchase from the uniform shop. Another point is that if your child is nearing the end of his/her time at a school you will be more likely to buy items from the second hand uniform sale at school. When you start a new school you will invariably want to get everything brand new for the first year.

I usually buy the next size (well every second size) ready for the new school year when it's easily available but then swap from old to new when outgrown.[/quote]
I don't get it? Every second size?
