We'd like to understand more about retirement savings and financial resilience

This survey is open to all female UK MNers who have not yet retired.

All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice.

We're also looking for some case studies to share their experience. Any selected case studies who give permission for their story to be shared as a part of this project will be incentivised for their contribution.

Done it, but the questions don't work very well for someone who is already retired.

@Choccyp1g it clearly says for people not already retired !

One of the questions forces an answer about children affecting pension but no option for if you have no children.

I just dived in, and I think the first question allowed me to tick "retired" as an option, pity it didn't throw me out at that point.
I'll probably mess up all the statistics.

There was nowhere to put the main barrier to me saving more for my retirement at the moment: as a higher earner the tax relief amount I can save into a pension each year is very limited. I would save considerably more into a pension if I could do so in a tax efficient way.

Completed- would be useful to have BTL rather than just "property" as a means of planning for retirement.

You have to accrue retirement capital (apparently), savings from your taxed income Use an ISA or GIA. You don’t get to call it a pension, but as a pension is only a set of tax (beneficial) rules, no issue.

Q 12 asks you to answer if the answer to Q 11 was 'yes' but survey won't let you move on without answering Q12, and there is no 'N/A' option

Q16 (if I've read it right ?) seems to suggest N/A (which I want to tick as I've not had a career break) is due to you not having dc ? That isn't me either, as I have had dc.

Don't know if me having to make up answers is going to skew the survey for you.

Some of the questions are a bit hard to answer if you are lucky enough to be in defined benefit scheme

Done.. was interesting for me as I missed 9 years of NI and pension contributions whilst living in France with my ex. We were living on his pension (he was a lot older than me) and income from gites. We got divorced 5 years ago after 28 years of marriage and I waived any rights to his pension as I believed I had time to make-up my pension pot shortfall. Unfortunately my Ill health may bugger up that plan so I am a bit worried about my future now.

I've put myself forward as a case study as one of the questions seemed to address this issue - in hindsight I should have taken a share of his pension but obviously too late now as I signed the 'clean break clause' in the divorce. Be interesting to see if they want me. 🤔

I think you need someone better to construct your surveys as they always have errors and inconsistencies in them and therefore your data will be largely meaningless. This one is no exception.
