Here at MNHQ, we'd like to find out more about how you travel with family and hear about your experiences when flying together - both on board and at the airport. Your opinion could help shape services and make them more suitable to you. If you'd like to help, click here to take the survey.

The survey is open to all MNer.All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Odd survey. Unless I was so dozy Imissed it, didn't see any option for self-employment or educational equivalent to professional status (lots of examples about doctors and lawyers at various stages of their careers so I had to guess my status)
Who wrote it?

whiteroseredrose · 29/09/2019 10:06

If I'm not interested in entering the prize draw why do I have to put my details?

InMySpareTime · 04/10/2019 14:10

Several of the airport facility questions were not relevant to me. I didn't use the food court or shopping for example. There should be a "not applicable" option.

Willowkins · 05/10/2019 09:51

Done - just a bit of feedback - I would have preferred age ranges rather than actual ages for me and mine.

It's not open to all mumsnetters at all. It says you have to be a UK resident.

@MNHQ I think this is the first survey post I have noticed that doesn't specifically say that you have to be a UK resident.....until, of course, you open the survey.

The survey didn't make it clear it was only interested in mumsnetters with young families. My children are in their thirties.

Tequilamockinbird · 06/10/2019 21:09

I agree with pp that it wasn't made clear the survey was for people with young children.

Also, I think you missed an important question out about which class of travel people flew in. Those who flew business/first class will likely have had a completely different experience to those in economy.

BitOutOfPractice · 07/10/2019 00:07

Assumes, as ever on these MN surveys that “children” means babies, toddlers and young children. Which makes most of the questions irrelevant to parents of older children.

EleanorReally · 07/10/2019 07:57

it asked about the latest return flight, however my last flight was a single due to the expense, came back another method

MsTSwift · 07/10/2019 11:44

Thought we all supposed to be flying less? We flew a lot with ours but the guilt kicked in we’ve switched to the train. Not sure mumsnet linking up with air travel is a smart move tbh

shinynewapple · 08/10/2019 08:43

I've completed survey but not sure how applicable it was to me as DS is now 18; DH and I holidayed with DS and his GF so the days of traveling with young children are long over.

We also flew with Thomas Cook and although they went out of business whilst we were away, I have no problems with the interactions we had with TC and thought the CAA did excellent job in arranging all the replacement flights - the company who flew us back had a larger and more comfortable plane with free tea/coffee and snack so really no complaint. (I realise it was different for some other people, particularly if you had holidayed as a package)

Odd survey. The big airlines know their market research and are all competitive; there’s nothing in the questions that will give them something ‘new’ - it is down to cost/benefit on pretty much all the questions. A more open-ended ‘blue sky’ type of survey might throw other stuff up.

YanaMumsnet · 11/10/2019 14:46

Thank you all for taking part in this survey.
