When the surveys ask for our names, is it our actual name or Mumsnet username. It used to say Mumsnet nickname on the surveys and doesn't now so am unsure.

Sorry if that's a silly question....

I haven't done the survey as my preschooler has SEN and literally the only thing that engages him and he learns from at present is a tablet and I already feel guilty enough about his screen time, which is excessive for his age! I think there is also a difference between spending time learning on educational apps compared to watching unboxing videos on YouTube and the survey doesn't account for that (unless it's homework).

I averaged out my Dd's activity. She doesn't play outside except at school but, she does a lot of sport outside of school.

Done, though I too struggled with the binary nature of the questions. DS1 will spend hours playing with his model railway, or doing puzzles/board games; so neither on a screen or outside.

I do try to make sure they're out in the garden every day though (weather permitting) even if only for half an hour...

I’ve done it but I also agree about the bias.

DS has never really enjoyed being outside but even as a toddler, would spend hours on a given activity - trains, Lego, drawing etc. He doesn’t have that much screen time but also has to be forced to spend time in the garden. He’d rather be inside with his Pokemon cards or playing with Lego.
