We at MNHQ would like to find out more about Mumsnet users' experiences when it comes to applying for primary school places. This survey is open to Mumsnet users in the UK who have children who are currently attending a state-sector community school, free school or academy and who are currently in the first three years of primary or are homeschooled but applied for a primary school place in the last three years.

To complete the survey, please click here.

All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £100 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Do you know something we don't know about Brexit? 'In the UK or Northern Ireland'? Seriously?

GruffaloPants · 26/03/2018 22:02

Done, but I think useful to clarify that in Scotland we have a crazy system where the vast majority of kids go to their nearest school. I'm not familiar with the hand wringing and sleepless nights brought on by systems elsewhere.

In the UK or NI?

Seriously MN? Or has something been announced and I missed it? Something other than the DUP propping up the current UK government? You know the UK, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

JustineBMumsnet · 28/03/2018 12:36

Hi all - we're sorry about stating "the UK and Northern Ireland" - this is a mistake. We're now amending this in the OP and the survey intro. Thank you for the feedback!

Doesn't make much sense in Scotland. Wish you could just say England and Wales when that is what is actually meant.

Didn’t really apply to us in Scotland as they don’t send out offers so I didn’t complete

ohhelpohnoitsa · 03/04/2018 20:56

Interesting survey.
We have dcs at primary and have moved house ready for secondary applications. Thankfully we only moved a few miles because none of the 3 primaries in this new place have room for my dcs. It's not just the entrance to reception that is a problem, most primaries around here are full. Lots of new builds here and there puts huge pressure on places.
