Why do you need both our username and email address? Surely mumsnet can contact the winner without having to give a personal email address out? Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable doing this?

I think so mothers: you must have an email address linked to the account you signed up with. That's the address MNHQ email you at if you contact them or report posts etc. so I would think it's pretty innocuous to provide it. I often wonder why you have to put user name when some users change them every five minutes, but I guess it's so they know how you'd like to be addressed as I've only ever been called my username in emails from MNHQ, but I might change it hourly on my account!

I've done it, but I don't think it registered my email address...

There wasn’t a big box where I could rant about night shifts. The single biggest thing that affects sleep and the thing that is killing me bit by bit.

I've done the survey, but I accidentally put the wrong email address - i put .co.ul instead if .co.uk
It won't let me back in so I guess I won't know if I win or not

@motherstongue you will have registered an email address with your MN account when you set it up, so you don't have to give both your MN username and email address if you don't feel comfortable. We just require one to enter you into the prize draw. We ask for both as not all MNers check their MN account regularly and we don't want them to miss out if they don't check their account within two weeks as per our T&Cs to win prizes. We also find that often one or the other can be misspelled or the email address MNers registered with is inactive so if we have both we can still contact the winners.

@MimsyBorogroves and @PinkBuffalowe we have your MN nicknames so will be able to contact you if you win, good luck!

We will contact the winners by email (or PM if we don't hear from you on email) the first week of Jan and will announce the winners on the thread
