Done.

I'm itching to get started on coding. I was going to buy a Raspberry Pi for DS for xmas but I think he would get frustrated and not enjoy it as a present. I've got a book about kids coding so once I swot up I'll get us a Pi.

I don't have a clue about coding but my daughter will be learning it soon. Really interested in the free classes offered by Barclays.

For those of you interested in learning a bit more, DH is currently doing Scratch with our older DDs and they love it. DH is a bit of a geek so is also loving it Xmas Grin. Google it - it's really easy to get started.

my 7 year old LOVES scratch, spends ages on it, i have to keep setting the timer to control her time on it. My hubby likes it too Poledra but then he is a programmer so I shouldn't be surprised.

nonicknameseemsavailable · 09/12/2014 17:22

oh and where can we find out about the Barclays coding stuff for children, I can't find it through search engines but my daughter would like that.

Q10- Larger scale WHAT? Confused

We use Kodu at home with the children. Even the 5yo can use it.

Is coding in the KS2 curriculum now?

Naughtyornicename · 10/12/2014 22:54

I didn't know Barclays did that! I used to do ye olde coding, ad on building websites in code, but now I can't be bothered. It must be my age! DH is on raspberry pi duty.

Oh my goodness. Is this another thing I need to find time to do with my children? Had honestly never occurred to me. But I suppose older DD is only 7 now...

I gave up on survey..What is coding? Am I missing something..MY DS is also 7 so maybe something he does without the label but he has never mentioned coding

jackstini · 13/12/2014 13:56

Not a clue what coding is and dd is 8 Confused can someone explain please?

SuperSaint · 14/12/2014 21:26

I have DD 11 and DS 8 and did the survey as I want to win £250 but couldn't really answer it as I have no idea what coding is and have never heard either of them mention it.

Does it mean writing computer programmes?

girliefriend · 14/12/2014 22:36

I have an 8yo and neither of us have a clue what coding is Confused
