It's survey time again for the team at MNHQ.

Please take a few minutes to complete our survey about how you feel about a specific topic on MN.

It's open to all MNers.

As a thank you, all respondents (who leave their details at the end) will be entered into a prize draw in which one MNer will win a £50 Amazon voucher.

Here's the link: www.surveymonkey.com/s/P5QJTNN

Thanks and good luck

Just to agree with earlier posts that it may appear that people aren't concerned about feminism / domestic abuse etc when in fact they are potentially longstanding feminists who are unlikely to become more or less so through internet chat. (And who have been poking their bosses being vocally anti sexist shite at work & elsewhere for the last 20 plus yearsGrin )

@ButThereAgain

Did goshly mean to ask what uses the survey info will be put to? Or has that been dealt with anywhere upthread? I'd be interested to know the answer to that question. Is it like the netmums(?) similar survey a while ago -- which I think was for the purposes of a press story intended as a snapshot of feminist thinking among a userbase (and an opportunity to get site publicity)?

I wouldn't really like to fill out a survey without more info than the OP gives about all the possible uses to be made of it.

Hello ButThereAgain. The surveys we ask folks to complete are usually for commercial clients who are interested in Mumsnetters' views of their products - and, if they're likely to use a Mumsnetter's quote in their publicity (usually ads on MN), we always flag that up in the OP and say something like 'please note that XX client may be using comments made on this thread'.

Surveys that aren't commercial but are created by us at MNHQ are either done so we can understand you all better and give you more of what you like (and supply us with some useful stats to answer queries from possible advertisers who may not understand the demographic on MN). We have our Census survey running at the moment, which is designed to do exactly this.

Or we occasionally run surveys, like this one, that, hopefully, give us a snapshot of folks' feelings/opinions on a certain topic. Depending on the results and how interesting they are, we may well think it a good idea to let folks outside MN know about it.

Done.

I haven't ventured into the fem topic for ages - I love discussing feminist issues, but every time I ventured in there and got stuck into a discussion I was interested in, I was attacked - called all sorts. So I tend not to go there much. Wish there'd been a question or two about that. I feel like I discuss feminist stuff all the time on MN, but in the actual fem topic it's just bickering and navel-gazing ime about doing feminism right.

Done. Interesting survey.

Would also like to add that the reason some of my views haven't changed after joining MN was before I already held strong views on some things before joining.
