We hope you have received and had a chance to try your DEXERYL® cream. Please take a minute to answer the questions below. Everyone who is a tester (for themselves or a member of their family) and provides feedback below will be entered into a prize draw to win an Avène skincare and Klorane haircare hamper worth £250 (containing products for sensitive skin ranging from cleansers to anti ageing but also smoothing shampoos with plant extracts).

o bad - she started itching within 5 mins and nearly went wild. I had only put this on her legs which was lucky. Her problem areas [backs of knees] looked like hot water had been thrown at them

I also tried it on my 3 year old daughter's eczema on her wrists, but it didn't agree with her and she flared up, so I stopped using it.

o Better, the same, worse better for ds definately , dd was fine but had a major flare up this week so had to go back to steroid cream (am yet to find an emolient that works when she has flare up. However using it again now to keep skin moisturised after steroid cream and is fine)

yes , ds said it is the best cream we have used as he can put his clothes on straight away rather than waiting for it to sink in.

o Very easy - although did find that I had to balance tube upside down or put lid on as it 'dripped' if left on it's side while i was applying it.

  1. Myself and DS (2.3)
  1. Easy to apply, but oozed out of the tube when left lying on it's side which made a bit of a mess. I suppose that would be less of a problem as the tube got used up.

3.No. Took a while to be absorbed on DS. Fairly quick to absorb on me.

4.A bit greasy on first application.

  1. I found it better than my usual cream.
  1. Overall experience - good.
  1. Yes, I would use it again.
  1. Yes I would recommend DEXERYL to someone else.

The packaging needs to be rethought though.

Better - DS' eczema has improved unbelievably, and the reduced mess compared to his usual cream is great.

So much nicer to use than the Diprobase I usually use - would definitely buy again

Not particularly, but in a good way - I prefer rich creams like this as I find them more effective and long-lasting

Good for me, OK for DD1 but bad for DD2 - her skin seemed to react to it and went much worse (red and weepy). Not a big surprise- very allergic family!)

Possibly for DD1, if I could get it on prescription

  2. Very easy to apply
  3. Compared to the thick emollients that I normally use, I found that dexeryl was absorbed pretty quickly.
  4. It was slightly greasy when first applied but this feeling soon disappeared, left my skin feeling very soft.
  5. Found it better, didn't have to wear my cotton gloves to bed!
  6. Good for both myself and dd2.
  7. Would definitely use it again.
  8. Already have.

o DD prefers the way the Dexeryl feels when she applies it. Her eczema is no better or worse

I was going to use DEXERYL® cream but first I had a look at the ingredients and notcied it contains parabens.

I try not to use them on my skin/hair and so didn't try the cream.

I think a product that is trying to treat eczema and other dry skin conditions should try not to use any parabens at all.

I don't use SLS or parabens on my skin and when searching for a cream to treat/moisturise my skin, wouldn't choose one with SLS or parabens in it.

P.S. Used this on ds3 who has very mild excema. I struggled to control his excema with 1% steroid cream and oilatum until I stopped using biological washing tablets (durrr - what an eegit, never washed childrens clothes in biological powder until older children went to school and came back with more grease stains on clothes). The Dexeryl seems to be a suitable substitute for oilatum, I'm not sure if its significantly better.

o a little easier to apply. About the same in terms of relief from dryness/comfort factor. I didn't like the lid (having to take it off completely) - prefer something flip-top for ease and speed of use, and no chance of losing it!

o good, although I still had some dryness on my legs at the end of the day. I only used it for about 3 days as it arrived while I was away for the weekend - I'd be interested to see how it was over a longer period.

o Yes, but it's not significantly better than my current Aveeno - and comes in smaller quantities. I'd go through the 250ml tube in days. I'm still going to ask my GP about it though.
