We hope you have received and had a chance to try your DEXERYL® cream. Please take a minute to answer the questions below. Everyone who is a tester (for themselves or a member of their family) and provides feedback below will be entered into a prize draw to win an Avène skincare and Klorane haircare hamper worth £250 (containing products for sensitive skin ranging from cleansers to anti ageing but also smoothing shampoos with plant extracts).

o Yes Ds2 had a bad spot on his face but after 2 days it was clear. I was suprised how quickly it worked and was very impressed

Very easy - agree with previous poster who said a pump action would work well though.

Non-greasy

Very similar to Doublebase but less slick so overall a bit better

Yes if I could get it on prescription for DD and it wasn't too expensive for me.

o Non-greasy, I needed to use it on my hands and sometimes feel that I need to wash the palms of my hands after using other products. This one was great.

o Better (although my son did complain it stung when first going on, but didn't last long)

o Easy. At first I used way too much. A little goes a long way.

o Felt quite greasy when first going on, but absorbed very fast - meant that a little went a long way.
  1. How did you find DEXERYL® cream in comparison to your usual emollient?
o Better - the only comparable cream I've used has been cetraben, which my GP has been reluctant to prescribe due to its cost. Much better than doublebase, which I find quite drying. Also got a patch of chapped skin under control quite quickly which I was pleased with as am currently pregnant and finding mild steroids not working on! Dexeryl didn't have quite the same anti-pruritic effect as other emollients, such as eumocream - although don't think it claims to have - but made my hands much more comfortable.

o Better - went on so beautifully and left skin feeling moisturised (which makes a nice change!)

o Easy - very easy once I'd worked out that less was better

o Fairly quickly. It's important not to use too much.

o Slightly greasy initially but that soon disappears.

o Was initially quite concerned as my skin went very red on first application. However I persisted and it has improved. Dexeryl seems to be reasonably priced and is better than those of similar price. I do have a more expensive cream that I prefer but if dexeryl remains at curent internet prices I would regard it as better value and would therefore continue to use it.

o After the initial hiccup very good.

o I have already mentioned it on mumsnet.

One problem with recommending it is that it supposed to be applied once a day but then the leaflet refers to no more than 6 times a day. My skin was particularly bad when this arrived and once wasn't enough to deal with the problem. So while I'd recommend it for mild eczema/ as a preventive for those whose eczema is under control it may be less use for severe cases.

It may also be helpful to state in the leaflet that some users may experience redness on first use. I was happy to go on testing on me but I would have been more concerned with a young child.

My daughter only has mild ezcma, but it is persistant and she also has possible molloscum(sp?) The cream has pretty much cleared up her ezcma entirely, and the molloscum type rash that has been there for a few months is looking a lot less red and inflamed. Thank you!
