Do you have a dog or a cat and want to test one of the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaners? Ten volunteers needed!

We're looking for 10 families with cats or dogs at home to trial one of two vacuum cleaners from the Dyson Animal range - the DC19T2 - worth £250 and the DC25 - worth £311.
The project involves four stages, which would take place over about 6 weeks:

  1. This recruitment survey - once we have all the volunteers in, Dyson will choose the 10 testing families

  2. Testers will then be sent one machine to test - these can be kept by the testing family. When the machines are first received Dyson would like the tester to fill in and return to Dyson a usability survey.

  3. Testers would then need to send Dyson (in pre-addressed /pre-paid envelopes ) the dirt, fluff and fur that they collect weekly for up to six weeks. They would also like to know how frequently testers vacuum. (This is not at all judgy and will not be posted on Mumsnet, honest!! )

  4. Lastly, after the six weeks is up (probably early Oct), one of the insight team at Dyson would like to visit the tester to chat about their thoughts and experiences with the Dyson - this chat would last approximately 45 minutes.

In order to take part you need to have at least one cat or dog and live in the UK.

If you'd be interested in taking part and believe you can undertake all elements of the project, please sign up here

Good luck

LittleWonder · 25/08/2009 17:46

the sound of a Dyson terrifies my dog - and it is not very good at doing the job.

rusmum · 25/08/2009 17:50

do you need to do anything to enter apart from ask?

gscrym · 25/08/2009 18:56

When do we find out if we've been picked. The suspense will kill me and the disapointment of not being picked will possibly crush me!

armbow · 25/08/2009 19:05

Me please..
I have a very hairy black labrador and cream carpets

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2009 19:37

am I too late? I have a cat that has such a thick pelt that we can make a whole new cat everyday out of the stuff she sheds!

T68 · 25/08/2009 20:13

Oh please let it be me!! We have a really lovely King Charles Cavalier Cross ( who know's what the cross is) but she is molting like mad at the moment. Great big tufts of black hair everywhere (blush) and on our bed. Lint rollers are costing a fortune!

T68 · 25/08/2009 20:14

I have done it too and I have 2 cats and 5 dogs the dogs are all Danes and all in the house.

I know it says you've to send the fluff not sure they'd want ALL of it as there would be loads of it I tell you.

Also the ruddy vax I have is beyond rubbish.

Sunflower36 · 26/08/2009 09:38

Pick me please!!!

Saltire · 26/08/2009 11:16

I think this Border Collie we have sheds far more hair than our previous 2!, it's everywhere, the kitchen and living room are the worst.

gscrym · 26/08/2009 11:39

Don't you just hate it when you've hoovered, go out for a nano second and when you come back, the dog, cat, guinea pig, llama - insert fuzz sheeding species - has managed to shed some more hair clumps the size of rugs.

In a Pussycat Dolls Style

'Dontcha think your dog sheds more than mine'

Disenchanted3 · 26/08/2009 13:38

WHEN WILL WE FIND OUT??
