Do you have a dog or a cat and want to test one of the Dyson Animal vacuum cleaners? Ten volunteers needed!

We're looking for 10 families with cats or dogs at home to trial one of two vacuum cleaners from the Dyson Animal range - the DC19T2 - worth £250 and the DC25 - worth £311.
The project involves four stages, which would take place over about 6 weeks:

  1. This recruitment survey - once we have all the volunteers in, Dyson will choose the 10 testing families

  2. Testers will then be sent one machine to test - these can be kept by the testing family. When the machines are first received Dyson would like the tester to fill in and return to Dyson a usability survey.

  3. Testers would then need to send Dyson (in pre-addressed /pre-paid envelopes ) the dirt, fluff and fur that they collect weekly for up to six weeks. They would also like to know how frequently testers vacuum. (This is not at all judgy and will not be posted on Mumsnet, honest!! )

  4. Lastly, after the six weeks is up (probably early Oct), one of the insight team at Dyson would like to visit the tester to chat about their thoughts and experiences with the Dyson - this chat would last approximately 45 minutes.

In order to take part you need to have at least one cat or dog and live in the UK.

If you'd be interested in taking part and believe you can undertake all elements of the project, please sign up here

Good luck

3 cats and a 5 year old, although my husband says I have OCD as far as hoovering is concerned, this would give me an excuse lol

AnnieLobeseder · 24/08/2009 17:48

Oooh, I'm signing up too. I have an annoying white dog who moults ridiculous amounts all year long. We have a Dyson animal, and it's lovely, but getting old and not all that it once was.

morethanyoubargainfor · 24/08/2009 17:50

DONE! i need one my dog sheds his hair all over the place and they resemble human pubes , can get embarrassing when we have people staying!

I also have the cat who loves to share all his hair, to which i am allergic!

BrigitBigKnickers · 24/08/2009 17:53

My end keeps falling off mine (my Dyson I mean)

Think the cleaner was cross when she was using it and has bashed it. But I have three different vacs, one of which is very elderly but basically works and is only for the car, one which is for the flat and one for the house. We did have four (we used to have a cleaner who insisted on one for each floor so she didn't have to carry them upstairs - yet she vac'ed the stairs ). So I am an expert vac buyer

Caz10 · 24/08/2009 18:01

Oh pick MEEEEEE

I am in Scotland too, it is TOTALLY worth them sending someone up here!

1 big hairy labrador - we have no carpets just wooden floors and the hair blows across like tumbleweed...

Saltire · 24/08/2009 18:04

I currnetly ahve a Vax bagless one and it does no bloody good whatsoever and our dog seems to lose enough hair to stuff all teh cushions in Buckingham Palace on a daily basis - where does it all come from. Our carpet never feels nearly hair free enough either

TheOnlyDailyMaleForMeisDH · 24/08/2009 18:09

An envelope isn't going to do it - a bin bag might do me for six weeks
