Testers wanted for Burger King

GeraldineMumsnet · 27/08/2008 12:50

We've been asked by Burger King to find ten mums with children between the ages of 4 and 11 to spend the day at its test kitchen (near Hayes and Harlington, London) to try its new kids? menu and to find out more about developments in this area. Volunteers will need to attend between 11am and 2pm.

You?ll also be able to take part in an informal discussion with David Kisilevsky, vice-president of marketing for Burger King EMEA, and Mark Dowding, Burger King chef and director of new product development and innovation, about the kids? meal and ask any questions you may have.

They want a mix of folks who would pop into Burger King and those who normally wouldn't. All they're asking for is feedback from you on the day. On this occasion, Burger King only want mums to attend, sorry but no children.

Everyone who attends will obviously get travel expenses, but will also receive £50 of Amazon vouchers.

If you'd like to volunteer, please fill in the mini survey.

Thanks,

MNHQ

oh what you have to EAT it?
sorry I withdraw

Hulababy · 27/08/2008 18:23

I could have signed up if I'd been closer to London. Would take me back to my sixth form days when I worked in BK

muggglewump · 27/08/2008 18:54

I live nowhere near or I'd have been in.
I never eat that kind of food cos I'm skint and boring. Getting paid to eat it sounds fun
Could you all think of me whilst tucking into your greasey MSG burgers please?

Habbibu · 27/08/2008 19:35

Phew - only came on to this thread to make sure moondog had signed up. I can rest easy now.

Just see it as a mumsnet meat-up - and you get paid £50.00 for for attending

WideWebWitch · 27/08/2008 20:57

Have you changed this from site stuff: help lickle Burger King to Products: come and eat burgers?

tigermoth · 27/08/2008 21:03

If the testers are free to criticise the whole fast food burger concept, then I guess it's different from mumsnet advertising burger king - or is that a naive assumption? I haven't read all the points made on this thread.

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 27/08/2008 21:55

Oh gosh aren;'t we all capable of deciding individually whether we want to do this or not. I can't as live too far away but can't actually see that the world will end if mumsnet invite people to take part. They're not shoving burgers down the throats of innocents.

Agree that McD's is the best place for gluten free on the motorway (except M&S - which is doable as well). We drove from Devon to the north coast of Ireland (and back again) and McD's had to be a staple because of its guaranteed gluten freeness.

Wimpy was the good spicy beanburger wasn't it? Ate loads during my Howard Jones influenced vegetarian faze

tigermoth · 27/08/2008 22:05

If you still like Howard Jones, he has an anniversary show at The02 coming up. I was at The02 today and saw a film clip advertising it. Howard looks sort of the same, but has gone a bit jowelly (sp!) - but that's middle age for you.

I had a Howard Jones phase when he first was in the charts. I saw a live gig of his and he was embarassingly good.

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 27/08/2008 22:09

God he's about 50 now and does dance type stuff!

Think I last saw him at the Radio 1 Roadshow. Peter Powell was snogging all the teenages bleurgh Oh actually that was a different year. It was Mike Read.

Saturn74 · 27/08/2008 22:15

DH still yearns the demise of the Bender in a Bun from Wimpy.
I have fond memories of Brown Derbys.

Saturn74 · 27/08/2008 22:16

mourns, not yearns

MamaMaiasaura · 27/08/2008 22:17

Er..., I would do it, but I'd need more than £50 of Amazon voucers as an incentive.

LynetteScavo · 28/08/2008 01:15

Make it £100

BBBee · 28/08/2008 09:44

I nominate a moondog / FZ trained squad to take up this wonderful offer.
