Testers wanted for Burger King

We've been asked by Burger King to find ten mums with children between the ages of 4 and 11 to spend the day at its test kitchen (near Hayes and Harlington, London) to try its new kids? menu and to find out more about developments in this area. Volunteers will need to attend between 11am and 2pm.

You?ll also be able to take part in an informal discussion with David Kisilevsky, vice-president of marketing for Burger King EMEA, and Mark Dowding, Burger King chef and director of new product development and innovation, about the kids? meal and ask any questions you may have.

They want a mix of folks who would pop into Burger King and those who normally wouldn't. All they're asking for is feedback from you on the day. On this occasion, Burger King only want mums to attend, sorry but no children.

Everyone who attends will obviously get travel expenses, but will also receive £50 of Amazon vouchers.

If you'd like to volunteer, please fill in the mini survey.

Thanks,

MNHQ

Is it just moms or can dads go?

suwoo · 27/08/2008 14:29

I've put my name down and I live in Manchester. It does say travel expenses will be paid and to state your location. It didn't say anywhere that distance would preclude you did it?

CountessDracula · 27/08/2008 14:40

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

fgs mnhq

This is rather vile isn't it???

WideWebWitch · 27/08/2008 14:45

Geraldine, you've mentioned the date but not my objections, was there a mnhq discussion about whether you should advertise this?

Oliveoil · 27/08/2008 14:49

what is the objection to BK? is it because they are fast food?

I don't have any objection to McDonalds either but am curious

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 14:57

I'm too far away .

CountessDracula · 27/08/2008 14:58

It promotes eating shit

Have you been to the states lately?
We will end up like that if we aren't careful

Oliveoil · 27/08/2008 14:59

no have not been to the states recently but a look out of the window suggests the same...

if you eat it all the time it will be bad yes, but not in moderation

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 14:59

Some people like BK and McDs and are able to figure out that you shouldn't eat there every day.

CountessDracula · 27/08/2008 15:01

Well let them eat there then

I though mnhq had decided against collaborating with purveyors of this type of food

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 15:03

But why should they not collaborate? I'm genuinely interested BTW not trying to be an arse.

Oliveoil · 27/08/2008 15:06

well we have had Dairylea lunchables and I don't think they are full of health are they?

(but if any lawyers are watching I am sure they are just dandy)

CountessDracula · 27/08/2008 15:07

If you are genuinely interested I suggest you read Fast Food Nation Wiki has some stuff on it

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 15:09

My friend had a go at me for eating a BK as she was putting 3 bottles of wine in her trolley for the weekend Did she think they was classed as a portion of fruit?

morningpaper · 27/08/2008 15:09

But surely it's better that they consult with uber clever mummies than with tickertasticmummies other less-knowledgable mummies

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 15:10

OK Thanks.

CountessDracula · 27/08/2008 15:11

Isn't it better that they stop feeding children this crud

morningpaper · 27/08/2008 15:11

you need to go there and tell them

think of the BOOKS

Tutter · 27/08/2008 15:14

cd should we (mn) be setting ourselves apart from the World At Large though?

it sometimes feels a bit middle class "we're above all that aren't we"

a lot of kids eat mcd's and bk - therefore i'm guessing that even some mnetters feed their kids mcd's and bk

cocolepew · 27/08/2008 15:15

The people who don't agree with this type of food are very judgey to those of us who do go.

Tutter · 27/08/2008 15:16

and - www - no, we didn't all say no to the mcd's chat

i was up for it

think it may have been at least 25% interesting (with 75% insult-fest, natch)

Oliveoil · 27/08/2008 15:16

my two went to McDonalds this very day with Daddy for a Happy Meal

Tutter · 27/08/2008 15:17

btw, am not pro-junk food - tutterlings have never tried it - but i don't think it helps to make out that mumsnet is middleclasssmugsnet

BexieID · 27/08/2008 15:17

Thankfully Tom is 2.4 and i'm in Scotland. The last time I had a BK it was at Heathrow when I was 19 weeks pregnant and I threw up. I remember the sudden rush to the ladies like it was yesterday!

Oliveoil · 27/08/2008 15:17

I want a spicy beanburger now
